REMARKABLE truth behind Trent Alexander-Arnold contract talks REVEALED
It’s been well established now that trying to predict what lies in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future is futile.
Mo Salah is making public noise about his contract and Anfield Watch are reporting that Virgil van Dijk is set to stay at Liverpool beyond the end of the season.

But there’s radio silence from Alexander-Arnold regarding his future. We do know that Real Madrid are the other interested party, the other destination he could head to should be decide he no longer wants to play at Anfield.
But Liverpool fans all over the world are in agreement that the club should be able to make a local lad playing for his boyhood club that are currently the best team in the world as happy as is possible in football.
Yet, a new report from Spanish outlet Revelo shows how remarkable the situation that Liverpool find themselves in is.
According to the report, Jude Bellingham is aiming to use his friendship with Alexander-Arnold to sway him to move to Spain. This is unsurprising given the established friendship that the two of them have.
It also states that “Not everyone at the club considers Arnold to be an indispensable player”, suggesting there is a certain amount of positional value that they care about.
However the report lays bare the reality of the situation, saying, “There is a certain optimism about the arrival of the right-footer, although it is far from being a done deal . Liverpool want to play their cards and finish convincing a footballer born there and who can become captain of the team from his city. However, in the north of England they understand that with each passing day it is more difficult for him to renew and they are fully aware of Madrid's interest.”
Trent's indecision shows Liverpool reality
The point they are making leaves a sour taste in the mouth. It feels like it should be a foregone conclusion that a local playing for his boyhood club - and not just playing, excelling, becoming one of the best players in the world in his position in the best team in the world - would stay no matter what.
He could become captain one day. He will always be remembered as a club legend and has a chance to match Steven Gerrard for what his legacy means.
And yet Liverpool have been reduced to begging and pleading with him to stay. It represents a damning indictment of what his future at the club is or, more importantly, could be. It is a remarkable, extraordinary situation that should never have arisen in the first place.
There’s a chance he stays. There’s a chance he claims he was never going to leave. But there is also a serious chance this is his last season on Merseyside.
