Liverpool receive MAJOR Trent Alexander-Arnold boost
Liverpool are facing an uncertain future with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The right-back is out of contract in summer 2025 and so far no breakthrough has been reached over a new deal. The Reds may soon have to face up to the reality of life without their homegrown hero, who looks set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

In recent matches, Arne Slot has had to find alternatives at right-back as the 26-year-old has been carrying an injury.
Conor Bradley has come into the team - with James McConnell playing in the position at the weekend - following Trent’s thigh injury suffered in the Premier League game against Bournemouth on February 1.
“The situation was that he said to me, 'You have to take me off',” Slot told the press after the 2-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium.
“He sat on the floor. He felt something. I cannot tell you exactly what it is and how bad it is, of course, because we are one hour after the game, but it’s never a good sign.”
Trent back for Derby?
Alexander-Arnold has since missed the EFL Cup semi-final second-leg victory against Tottenham as well as the FA Cup defeat to Plymouth.
It was expected that the injury would only keep Trent out very briefly but it’s almost two weeks now since he first suffered the knock. He was also injured for two weeks back in November ahead of the international break when he damaged a hamstring in a Premier League game against Aston Villa.
That opened the door to Bradley, who took his chance to impress in a defacto audition for Trent’s place full-time in the event he goes to Madrid.
However there are positive signs for Trent in the short-term at least with Slot hinting at a possible involvement in the upcoming Merseyside Derby.
Liverpool take on Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park on Wednesday night requiring a victory following the FA Cup setback at Plymouth. And happily for the Reds, it looks like Trent could be available to play some part.
“Trent has done parts of the training session with us yesterday so let's see how he is today,” the Liverpool head coach told a pre-match press conference.
“He will train hopefully with us again and then we have to decide if we take him to the game, yes or no.”
Alexander-Arnold has played 31 times for the Reds this season, scoring twice and adding seven assists.
