Rumours of a potential Liverpool exit for Trent Alexander-Arnold continue to circulate as the defender enters his final year of his current contract.

Alexander-Arnold is one of numerous big stars who are in their final year of their current deals at Anfield with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah also yet to renew contracts.

The 25 year-old has sparked a lot of interest from Real Madrid over the summer with fears mounting that the defender could join the European champions on a free transfer in 2025.

But Carlo Ancelotti's side aren't the only side among Europe's elite reportedly interested in the full-back, with Bayern Munich now being mentioned as a possible destination by a new report in Caught Offside.

The report claims that Alexander-Arnold is 'considering' the opportunities on the horizon with Bayern and long-term suitors Real in the frame.

Furthermore, the report adds that contract talks with Liverpool have currently stalled.

Talks of a potential exit continued to grow after Alexander-Arnold seemingly was unimpressed about being replaced by Conor Bradley on Sunday in the second-half in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Brentford.

But the Scouser has continued to prove his value to his boyhood club at the beginning of the Arne Slot era having been instrumental in both of Liverpool's opening two victories.

RENEWALS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SIGNINGS

Liverpool are yet to sign a player in the summer window with the likelihood of an incoming before Friday's deadline being still up in the air, which has seen Liverpool fans express their displeasure, particularly because of the outgoings.

However if Richard Hughes et al can pin down Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk and Salah with new deals, it may blow any business that could have happened this summer out the water.

Following the Reds' victory over Brentford on Sunday, Liverpool captain Van Dijk was asked about his current situation regarding his contract.

"I'm very calm. I want to be important and stay important for the club. Whatever happens next year we will see.

"Everything happens for a reason. There's no changes in my situation. There is no reason for me to be looking for something else.

"It's home. It's a special place. Whatever happens in the future, Anfield will hold a special place in my heart," Van Dijk said on Sky Sports.
