A number of high-profile departures are expected at Anfield, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch, and Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes will be doing their best to secure the biggest fees possible.

It is difficult to know just how much Liverpool will be able to generate from player sales, but another Premier League club are about to set a precedent that the Reds will be very happy with.

Bournemouth set Semenyo asking price

When trying to gauge a fair asking price for some of Liverpool’s top talents, it makes sense to look at similar players around the Premier League.

One such player is Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

The 25-year-old forward has enjoyed a fruitful campaign, earning himself links to some of the biggest clubs in the country and even a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

Now, GIVEMESPORT are reporting that the Cherries have set a whopping £70 million price tag on the Ghanaian.

With Liverpool looking to shift a number of their own forwards, a £70 million asking price for Semenyo sets a precedent that could see the Reds bank a huge amount.

How does Semenyo compare to Diaz?

When looking at players who could depart Anfield this summer, Luis Diaz is the most like-for-like comparison to Semenyo, so how do the two compare?

In the Premier League this season, Diaz has managed 11 goals and five assists for the Reds. By comparison Semenyo has only scored eight and assisted four for the Cherries. Semenyo has played almost 800 more minutes in the competition too.

Although the Colombian is three years older than Semenyo, it isn't hard to argue he should be valued at least equally to Bournemouth’s man.

Diaz is entering the supposed prime years of his career and, if Semenyo is worth £70 million, Liverpool could bank a massive profit on the roughly £50m they paid to Porto in 2022.

Football Transfers estimate Diaz’s transfer value to be around €70m (£60m) but if Semenyo is sold for £70 million, Hughes will be more than entitled to demand a similar fee for the Colombian. That's why Bournemouth's valuation will be music to his ears.

Luis Diaz’s Liverpool departure isn’t definite but it looks likely and, if Liverpool can secure a fee of around £70 million, Diaz could make way as part of an era-defining overhaul of the Reds’ attack.
