Liverpool fans are hungry for transfer incomings after seeing just one player arrive at Anfield over the last three transfer windows.

However, despite the club's frugal approach to recruitment business, there are some positions of note that the team needs to invest in and rumours are rife as to who could join the Reds in the summer.

Despite being able to rely on Andy Robertson's services at left-back for such a long time, it is clear that his fitness and overall sharpness in the game is beginning to wane and so he will need to be replaced going forward.

Initial links point to Fulham's Antonee Robinson being the chosen target, although sources went on to tell Anfield Watch that Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez is the preference of the executives on Merseyside.

Then, reports came out suggesting that the club could take advantage of Alphonso Davies' contract situation at Bayern Munich. However, that seems to have worked itself out in the last few days, with the Canadian looking likely to prolong his stay in Bavaria.

But amongst all the uncertainty, the Liverpool fanbase noticed a particular spectator at the Reds' win over Ipswich on Saturday and he could be the perfect solution that the club has been looking for after all.

Jorrel Hato spotted at Anfield amid left-back search

Wearing a black winter hat, ideally trying to remain unspotted, it appears as though Hato had travelled over from Holland to watch the Reds play. Dutch site Football Transfers make it clear his reasons for being there aren't known, however.

Given his Dutch connections to Virgil Van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Arne Slot, it is unsurprising that Liverpool might be a team that he admires, on the basis of the contingent of his fellow countrymen who now play such an important role in the team.

In addition, the opportunity to take some time away from the game must have been a tempting one, as Ajax's Eredivisie game against Go Ahead Eagles - which was set to take place today - has been postponed.

After being rested for Ajax's Europa League clash on Thursday as well, the 18-year-old was given a one-week break from a relentlessly busy schedule, making this week the perfect opportunity to have a mini-break.

Conversely, Liverpool fans have been optimistic in their reading of the situation, hoping that Hato's attendance yesterday afternoon signals that the Reds are working on a deal to bring him in as a long-term Robertson replacement.

While the initial photo of Hato sitting in the Anfield main stand could be misconstrued as someone else, one of Hato's alleged friends confirmed that they were present at the game by posting to social media, and Liverpool sure put on a show for the pair.

The Reds prolonged their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League and Hato was given a clear view of how the team likes to play and the situations that he could find himself in if the move to Liverpool comes to fruition.

TBR Football has reported previously that his on the Reds' radar for potential left-back recruits and his specific profile makes him a particularly attractive prospect.

Being able to play at left-back and as a left-sided centre-back, means that Liverpool could feasibly add some defensive depth to their ranks while adding a more assured full-back to the team.

His Dutch connection is only likely to be an enticing factor given how easy it would be for him to grow into the team, learning from players he admires and who he might end up playing alongside for the national team as well.

And it seems as though his current club is resigned to the fact that he might begin to assess his options when the summer 2025 transfer window roles around if the reports from The Athletic are to be believed.

So while on the face of it, Liverpool are deciding to completely ignore the recruitment market, the club might instead be working behind the scenes on securing their targets rather than making their intentions clear to rival teams, and fans are already excited about what could be in store.
