Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has interest in him - and a new update suggests exactly what he thinks about it all.

The Guardian reported recently that the Saudi Pro League wants to bring in Alisson Becker from Liverpool. They're after an elite goalkeeper for the league and the Brazilian is their no.1 target.

It means we can't be 100% clear on what Alisson wants to do this summer. Is he up for the overhaul at Liverpool or would he like to jump ship to the wealthy league?

Well, journalist David Lynch suggests it's the former. He's delivered an update on Alisson which makes it clear that the goalkeeper is aware of the interest in him.

Despite it all, he wants to stay.

“Another player who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia is Alisson Becker," said Lynch on his YouTube channel. "There is interest from him from several clubs, that’s from sources close to the player.

“Those sources also insist that Alisson is very happy at Anfield he wants to stick around and usher in this new era under Arne Slot, he doesn’t want to depart now that Jurgen Klopp has left the club.”

Alisson at Liverpool

It feels absolutely vital that Liverpool retain as many senior, first-XI players as they can this summer. Alisson fits that bill as well as anyone.

Rebuilding the squad under Arne Slot will be difficult enough, and it would be made all the more difficult with numerous incoming. Let alone players who would have to fill voids left by players like Alisson. He's essentially irreplaceable.

And so this is good news. Keeping Alisson on the books helps create the continuity that Liverpool need - not to mention that he's arguably the world's best goalkeeper right now.

His desire to stay - and spurn the money thrown his way - is a win for Liverpool.
