Liverpool READY to sign 17-year-old SENSATION
Liverpool have had great success in the transfer market in recent years, using their profile as one of the best places for young players to progress their careers to entice some of the brightest talents in the game.
Since Brexit, English clubs have had to adjust their transfer policies. Clubs can no longer strike transfers for foreign players until they are 18 years old.

It means that Liverpool have had to turn their attention to finding the best young British players, and to bringing them in at a young age to either develop into first-team players or to sell them for big profits.
Bobby Clark was bought from Newcastle for approximately £1.5m including add ons in 2021. Fast forward to the summer just gone and Clark was sold to Pep Lijnder’s Red Bull Salzburg for £10m.
Since then, a number of highly-rated youngsters have joined the club and are blossoming. Ben Doak came from Celtic in 2022 and is ripping it up in both the Championship for Middlesborough and for Scotland. Trey Nyoni has impressed in pre-season and looks like a long-term option in midfield. Rio Ngumoha has been compared to Mbappe in his short time at the club since his controversial transfer from Chelsea.
And now Liverpool are looking to repeat the trick by bringing in another 17-year-old who is tipped for the top.
Liverpool interested in Sunderland wonderkid
According to a report from The Sunderland Echo, Liverpool are showing an interest in signing teenage sensation Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi.
Ogunsuyi, who will turn 18 in December, has been in great form for Sunderland’s youth sides, scoring 12 times and getting 2 assists in 7 games for the club’s U18 and U21 teams. He’s also netted in both of his games against Liverpool’s youth sides this season.
The Belgian youth international is a tall centre forward who can play on either wing and has been described as one of Sunderland’s “brightest young players” - no mean feat in a side that features Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg.
Ogunsuyi was rewarded for his performances this season with a spot on the bench during Sunderland’s recent Championship match against Millwall. If he continues to turn heads it won’t be long before he’s on the pitch for the senior side.
Liverpool missed out on signing Ogunsuyi before he signed his first professional deal in the summer, one which will keep him at Sunderland until 2026. However, The Sunderland Echo report that Liverpool remain interested in signing him in the future.
A future front-three of Ngumoha, Ogunsuyi, Doak, anyone?
