When it comes to attacking talent, Liverpool know what they're talking about.

The club has six different forwards, each offering a unique dimension to Arne Slot's team.

However, when a player begins to under-perform, the pressure begins to rise and Liverpool's hierarchy is not afraid to make cutthroat changes for the betterment of the team.

At the moment, the loose end in the Reds' attack is Darwin Nunez, who has failed over the last three years to bring any sort of consistency to his game. His most recent dry spell in front of goal has led to speculation that he may not be the right person to lead the line for Liverpool for years to come.

However, a number of players in Europe have shone in the No9 position so far this season, and Liverpool have already made one young talent their main priority for the upcoming transfer windows.

Liverpool's interest in Marmoush

25-year-old Omar Marmoush is having a remarkable season in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt.

From 23 games, he has 18 goals and 12 assists in all competitions - a remarkable effort given we are only at the halfway point of the campaign.

Alongside tearing it up in front of goal for Frankfurt, he represents the Egyptian national team, playing across from Liverpool's own Mohamed Salah.

The partnership the two share for the country is one that Liverpool fans are dreaming of seeing at Anfield in the near future.

Marmoush's transfer links with Liverpool have been long-standing and David Ornstein at The Athletic recently clarified that he is 'likely' to leave Frankfurt at the end of the season.

However, the club's sporting director has now issued an update that leaves the situation much less clear than we originally thought.

No club yet to approach Frankfurt about Marmoush

According to a report from the Egypt Independent, Marmoush is not set to go anywhere quite yet.

Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director Bartosz Niedzwiedzki told Almasry Alyoum: "Omar Marmoush is the most important player in the team. We have not received any offers to sign the player, and all these reports are not true.

"The major international newspapers said that Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Roma are all interested in signing Marmoush. I don't know where this news comes from.

"What is certain is that Frankfurt has not received any official offers from these or any other clubs. We usually don't comment on rumours, but if an official offer comes in, it will be studied by the management and Marmoush."

It is certainly bizarre that no one has made an approach for him. Marmoush is far and away one of the standout performers in Europe this year. He's surely got to be on everyone's radar.

One potential reason why Liverpool are yet to contact Frankfurt about discussing a possible transfer with Marmoush might be because of the club's additional interest in Joao Pedro at Brighton.

It is clear that the Reds are interested in bringing in a new striker, but while a move in January is off the cards, Liverpool may want to be strategic about their transfer moves after the disappointing end to negotiations with Martin Zubimendi last season.

After spending £85m on Nunez who has failed to meet expectations, it is not understandable that the hierarchy is taking a cautious approach to bringing in someone else.
