Liverpool transfers: Gravenberch makes Galatasaray decision amid links

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is ready to REJECT a transfer away from Anfield this summer according to reports, having been linked with a shock switch just one year after joining.

The Dutchman signed for the Reds from Bayern Munich late in the summer transfer window for a fee reported to be in the region of €40 million

The 21-year-old’s career had stalled in Bavaria, and he was deemed surplus to requirements following a tough debut season having just signed from Ajax.

Jurgen Klopp wasted no time in snapping Gravenberch up but it’s not exactly gone to plan for the Netherlands international on Merseyside thus far.

Gravenberch has been restricted to only 11 Premier League starts, although he was among the goals on Sunday as Liverpool beat Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage - his first Premier League goal for the club.

He also suffered a bad ankle injury during his first showpiece game for the Reds, the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley in February.

Due to his inability to nail down a starting place, Gravenberch had been linked last week with a transfer away.

Fotomac reported that the former Ajax player had become a target for Galatasaray, who were seeking an upgrade on Tanguy Ndombele in midfield.

The Turkish outlet claimed that Gala were ready to take Gravenberch off Liverpool’s hands on an initial loan deal with a permanent fee of €25m attached.

Gravenberch set to stay at Anfield

It also reported that the Istanbul giants wanted to accelerate their plans to sign a new starting midfielder ahead of the forthcoming European Championship.

Gravenberch is under contract with Liverpool until 2028 and, according to the latest reports in Germany, is in no mood to entertain a move away.

Sky Sport Deutschland now declares that the 11-cap midfielder “wants to assert himself” at Anfield and make a breakthrough into the starting XI.

He could have the opportunity to work alongside a compatriot in the shape of Arne Slot next season with the Dutchman now the favoured candidate to replace Klopp
