Because it seems like Real Madrid may have set their sights on other right-backs.
However, the Spanish club haven't given up on pursuing players from Liverpool by the looks of things. It seems from recent reports that Real Madrid could now target two different players from the club.
Why Real Madrid are now pursuing a move for Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch
After both Jones and Gravenberch played a key role in completely dismantling Real Madrid at Anfield, it seems as though the Liverpool duo have now emerged as potential targets for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
According a report in Bild, Curtis Jones has become one of the candidates to replace Toni Kroos, who retired last summer, with the Spanish club huge admirers of his game.
Meanwile, a report in Fichajes in Spain claim that Real Madrid are also pursuing a move for Ryan Gravenberch with the report claiming the Dutchman caught the eye with his performance at Anfield.

These claims are not exactly from the most reliable sources, so they should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Liverpool are currently the most in form team in the whole of Europe. It's only natural that the club's young and emerging stars are going to be linked with moves away.
But that doesn't mean that it will happen.
There is, however, a genuine worry around the future of Jones. He has two years left on his current deal and the club haven't rewarded him for his fine form just yet.
Liverpool need to act fast to tie him down to a new contract otherwise they could be having the same problem with Jones as they are facing with the likes of Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk at the moment.
