Liverpool on RED ALERT as long-term target transfer listed by Real Madrid
Liverpool’s midfield was a priority in the transfer market over the summer, however no reinforcements ever arrived.
Since the start of the season the emergence of Ryan Gravenberch has calmed supporters' worries about the Reds’ midfield depth, but for many the midfield remains a priority.
Beyond Ryan Gravenberch, only Wataru Endo and Tyler Morton are natural in the holding midfield role and Slot doesn’t seem to fully trust either of his back-ups.

Liverpool’s number one target in the summer was Martin Zubimendi, who opted to remain at Real Sociedad over moving to Merseyside.
It now appears that another long-term target could soon be available and the Reds could be tempted into moving for him to boost their midfield options.
Real Madrid ‘listening to offers’ for Tchouameni
According to a report from Relevo, Los Blancos are now willing to listen to offers for midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni after a difficult start to the season.
The report claims that the Frenchman’s recent performances have left the club with doubts over his future and that the 24-year-old is running out of credit at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Liverpool’s interest in Tchouameni stretches back to before his move to Real Madrid, when the Reds made an effort to sign him while he was still at AS Monaco and there was reportedly interest again over the summer.
Now, Michael Edwards could have the chance to secure a target that he was beaten to at the end of his previous tenure in Merseyside.
Should Liverpool sign Tchouameni?
Although Gravenberch has been a standout performer since Arne Slot arrived at Anfield, there could still be room for another top midfielder.
Both Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have featured heavily for the Reds alongside Gravenberch, and the addition of another top midfielder could lead to slot being more willing to rotate his midfield.
Tchouameni’s market value is estimated to be €48.7 million by Football Transfers although Real Madrid would probably be looking to recoup more of the €80 million, they spent on the midfielder in 2022.
A downside to the arrival of Tchouameni is that it could block the development of youngsters such as Morton and on-loan Stefan Bajcetic, but this may be a risk Slot is willing to take.
The 24-year-old can also play as a centre back and this versatility is another bonus for any potential suitor.
Although Tchouameni's development may have stalled this season, Slot has already proven how he can improve players in very little time, as he has done with both Luis Diaz and Gravenberch, and so the Frenchman would be in good hands if he did make the move to Anfield.
Liverpool still have a busy two months of football to focus on before the transfer window reopens but Slot, Edwards and Richard Hughes will surely already be looking at ways to improve the squad, and Tchouameni may be a viable option.
