Behind them, Curtis Jones is a competent deputy who can fill in for a variety of different roles in the midfield.

But when it comes to Slot's reserves there is more uncertainty about how much he trusts some of his back-up option. Both Wataru Endo and Harvey Elliott have been limited in terms of their minutes on the pitch.

Elliott in particular doesn't seem to suit the requirements that Szoboszlai has for the no.10 role in Slot's midfield. He's not dynamic and physically imposing enough to win duels and function effectively in the system in that position.

A move away from the Reds is therefore entirely possible. But if he does move away, he will need to be replaced and it seems like Liverpool are already scouting a midfielder who could be an ideal replacement.

Yuito Suzuki on Liverpool's radar and why he is 99% similar to Dominik Szoboszlai

What Liverpool need as a back-up to Szoboszlai is someone who is very similar to the Hungarian, who can almost do everything he can but just at a lower level.

Realistically speaking Liverpool are not going to sign someone of the same calibre as Szoboszlai. But there is a player who fits the profile of what the Reds could be looking for, and he's on the club's radar already.

Liverpool have been reportedly scouting Yuito Suzuki in the past 12 months, who has been in great form in the Danish Superliga, a league Anfield Watch understands the club's scouts keep a close eye on.

Suzuki has 30 goal contributions in just over 53 appearances for Brondby so far. And he is a really interesting profile.

According to SciSports' database, he is 99% similar to Szoboszlai in his playing style and is ranked as a 'fast' player, which ticks two boxes of what Slot would be looking for in a no.10.

For Brondby he has been playing more and more as an advanced playmaker or a right-sided attacking midfielder - a very similar role that Szoboszlai occupied at RB Leipzig before making the switch to Anfield.

Suzuki can shoot. pass and dribble comfortably with both feet, which makes him an unpredictable player for the opposition.

He's adept at switching the ball and creating chances for his teammates but he is also a really clever finisher and scores with both his left and right foot at around the same rate.

Just take a look at this perfect hat-trick he scored for Brondby, one with his head, another with his left foot and then the last with his right foot.

Defensively, he's got the ability to press from the front and he will smother the opposition with his speed in defensive transitions.

He ranks in the top 10% in the Danish Superliga according to SciSports for counter interceptions in both his own half and the opposition's half - highlighting just how disruptive he is when it comes to thwarting opposition attacks.

Given the fact that Liverpool are looking at him, Suzuki is an interesting name to keep an eye on.

At 23 years old, he's young enough not to have reached his ceiling meaning Slot can still work on developing him and maximising his potential.

Meanwhile, for Liverpool with Suzuki having an estimated value of €8.9M according to Football Transfers, he's a potential bargain option and an opportunity to strike gold by signing an absolute gem in the market.
