Liverpool transfers: German wonderkid makes transfer DECISION amid Reds interest
18-year-old wonderkid Assan Ouedraogo has made his mind up on his future amid transfer interest from Liverpool.
The Schalke midfielder has been hailed for his swift rise into the first team of one of Germany's sleeping giants, making 17 appearances in the second division during an injury-hit campaign.
The youngster was sidelined from November to March but managed a string of appearances at the end of the season, with a move away from Gelsenkirchen to come this summer.
Liverpool are one of the sides who have been touted with interest in the exciting prospect, as have Merseyside rivals Everton.
However, Ouedraogo, who has been likened to former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso in play style by the Bundesliga's official website, appears set to secure a move across Germany.
BAYERN MUNICH TO SIGN ASSAN OUEDRAOGO
As reported by Patrick Strasser and corroborated by Fabrizio Romano, Ouedraogo is the latest German talent to be snapped up by Bayern Munich.
The teenager will make the move to Bavaria this summer and negotiations are at an 'advanced stage', with Bayern and Schalke just ironing out the 'final details'.
Ouedraogo reportedly had a release clause worth just £17m to clubs outside of Germany, but it isn't yet clear how much Bayern have had to pay for his services.
With Liverpool having completed a midfield rebuild last summer, it's not surprising that the club haven't pursued a deal for the talented but raw Ouedraogo.
He has very little first-team experience and the emergence of Stefan Bajcetic, Bobby Clark and James McConnell means Liverpool are well-stocked with youngsters in the centre of the pitch.
Liverpool are not necessarily targeting a midfielder this summer but if they do enter the market it would likely be for a defensive-minded addition.
The Reds are also interested in wingers and centre-backs as they prepare for their first season without Jurgen Klopp since 2015.
