Liverpool set to make IMMINENT decision on Tyler Morton as asking price REVEALED

Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton has shown his capabilities while out on loan and he could be set for another spell away from Anfield.

The 21-year-old has flourished in recent seasons securing first-team game time at Championship sides Blackburn Rovers and Hull City.

But now the Englishman is attracting attention from clubs in Europe.

Morton has chance to play under idol

According to German website Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen have been unable to find a replacement for Gustavo Puerta who is on loan at Hull City with an obligation to buy clause.

The side, which is managed by Morton's idol Xabi Alonso, wants to bring Morton to Germany for a season-long loan.

The report also states that the Bayer officials had chosen the Belgian talent Arthur Vermeeren from Atletico Madrid as the first candidate, but he has since decided to go on loan to RB Leipzig.

Mail on Sport is also reporting that the Bundesliga champions have promised the midfielder to play in at least 50 percent of games this season if he remains fit.

Liverpool would have preferred a sale and valued him at around £20million. Fellow German club RB Leipzig and Italian side Atalanta were interested earlier in the window.

The report also states that Morton is understood to be excited by a proposed move to Leverkusen and wants to play under Alonso.

Another wonderkid departure

Speaking to Mail Sport last season while on loan at Hull City, Morton said: "I used to go to the park and practice my pinging with my dad, I loved Xabi Alonso so I tried to copy him. Stevie Gerrard was my idol but I loved watching Xabi play, he was just in a different class."

If the deal is finalised, Morton would be the next youngster to depart on a loan or permanently with many more young outgoings expected before the end of the transfer window.
