The Hungarian is viewed as an ideal addition to the Reds' first team squad as Richard Hughes look to replace Andy Robertson.
Hughes will be very familiar with Kerkez having signed him for Bournemouth back in the summer of 2023.
That relationship could help Liverpool pull off a deal however it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can succeed in their efforts to get the Hungarian international.
There are plenty of other clubs in the race and the Reds have alternative solutions.
Milos Kerkez strikes new agreement that could help his move to Liverpool
A report by the iPaper has claimed that Liverpool are ready to gazump a deal for Kerkez over their rivals Manchester United.
That's an interesting report, especially in the midst of Kerkez making a major change in his career.
The Bournemouth defender switched to a new agency in the last two weeks agreeing a deal with Lian Sports, who will represent him in the future and who will try to broker a deal for him in the summer transfer window.
This could help Kerkez's move to Anfield because Lian Sports is an agency Liverpool have worked with very recently over a major deal.
Their other big client is Federico Chiesa, and they played a key role in bringing him to Anfield last summer.
It's no secret Michael Edwards and his new recruitment team like to work with the same agents over and over again building up a trust and rapport.
The fact that Liverpool will know Lian Sports' representatives could make a deal easier for the Reds to get over the line.
Not to mention Hughes' connection to Kerkez as mentioned above.
It all seems to make sense. Although nothing is set in stone. It may be so that Liverpool look for other targets with the iPaper report claiming that Bournemouth would want to sell Kerkez for £50m.
That's a huge price tag and only time will tell whether Liverpool are prepared to pay it.
