Liverpool transfers: MAJOR Salah update amid Klopp row and Saudi rumours

Liverpool have had no indications that Mohamed Salah wants to leave the club this summer and are expecting him to stay at Anfield next season, according to David Ornstein.

The Egyptian has faced significant criticism for his poor performances in recent weeks and things reached boiling point on Saturday following a touchline spat with Jurgen Klopp during the West Ham clash.

The 31-year-old hasn't scored from open play in eight games and has been benched for a number of crucial clashes in recent weeks, leading to speculation that this may be his final season on Merseyside.

It's no secret that clubs in Saudi Arabia are desperate to sign Salah and are expected to make a move for him again in the upcoming transfer window after failed attempts last summer.

However, despite his contract expiring in 2025, Liverpool are expecting Salah to stick around next season.

MOHAMED SALAH TO SNUB SAUDI INTEREST?

According to David Ornstein in The Athletic, it is 'anticipated' that Salah will stay at Liverpool this summer having shown 'no indication' of wanting to leave the club.

Just as crucially, the Saudi Pro League reportedly understand that Salah wishes to spend another season with Liverpool at the very least, potentially putting them off a move in the summer window with their interest 'less aggressive' than it once was.

As a result, clubs like Al-Ittihad may instead target Salah in 2025, when he will be a free agent should he not sign a new contract with the Reds.

Arne Slot is set to be the man tasked with replacing Klopp this summer and one of his priorities, alongside new sporting director Richard Hughes, will be sorting out the contract situations of Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold - all of which expire in 2025.

According to Ornstein, there is no 'initial concern' regarding the recent argument between Klopp and Salah on Saturday at the London Stadium, and it would be 'fairly irrelevant' anyway given the 56-year-old coach is leaving this summer.

Salah's situation is likely to play out over the coming months and speculation will persist until an official decision is confirmed, but it appears that Liverpool are preparing for next season with the 31-year-old in their plans.
