Liverpool transfers: talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan slams 'fair weather' Salah

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has found himself at the centre of a storm this week - and now outspoken talkSPORT presenter Simon Jordan has given his take on recent events, admitting: "I'm just not a huge admirer of his."

Since returning from the African Cup of Nations, Salah has experienced a major dip in form, coinciding with Liverpool's exit from both the FA Cup and Europa League, plus their increasingly waning title hopes.

His recent appearance off the bench in the Reds' 2-2 draw with West Ham United garnered further attention after an argument with manager Jurgen Klopp stole the spotlight from the match.

Speaking on Tuesday afternoon amid uncertainty over the 31-year-old's future at the club, Jordan weighed in on the Salah debate.

"I'm not a fan of Mo Salah's," he began.

He then went on to suggest that Salah's impressive numbers over the years are more down to his teammates than any individual brilliance.

"I think that he plays in a very good Liverpool side that creates a lot of chances," he said.

Salah is 'overrated'

The former Crystal Palace owner then labelled the Egypt international as overrated.

"I don't think he's as good as people make him out to be," he said, before giving the most damning verdict of all.

"I think he dives. I think he can be a fair-weather player."

Will Salah stay at Liverpool?

Especially in the aftermath of his bust-up with Klopp on Saturday, Salah's future at Anfield has been subject of increasingly speculation.

However, reports since then seem to suggest that the club expects the forward to stay put.

Jordan, however, is not so convinced: "I do believe that there's a distinct possibility that he will leave."

With Salah's current deal set to expire in 2025, if he is to turn down overtures from the Saudi Premier League, negotiations over a contract extension will have to start very soon to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

With Klopp's impending departure at the end of the season, preserving the core of the squad will be crucial for the incoming manager's plans at Anfield.
