Liverpool monitoring RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo who has interesting release clause

Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are among several Premier League clubs closely monitoring the situation of Spanish forward Dani Olmo as the summer transfer window approaches, according to reports originating from Spain.

Recent speculation surrounding Olmo has been fuelled by his £51.5 million release clause, making him an attractive prospect for top clubs seeking attacking reinforcements.

Spanish outlet Sport has suggested that Barcelona would love to bring back their academy product, currently plying his trade with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.

However, the club's financial difficulties have opened the door for a number of top teams across Europe, specifically in England, to make a swoop for the 26-year-old.

Olmo, a versatile option in attack

Known for his versatility, Olmo can operate effectively on either flank, through the middle and even as a false nine.

Despite grappling with injuries throughout the current campaign, he has managed to notch eight goals and provide five assists in 25 appearances for Leipzig.

Fitness permitting, Olmo is set to be a key player in Luis de la Fuente's Spain side at the European Championships in Germany this summer.

In fact, he's considered by the national team coach to be an important part of the dressing room because of his excellent leadership qualities.

A familiar face

Should Liverpool manage to secure Olmo's signature, it would not only bolster their squad but also see him reunite with former Leipzig teammates Ibrahima Konate, Dominik Szoboszlai and Fabio Carvalho (who had a brief loan spell at the club earlier this year).

Liverpool's reported interest in Olmo comes amid a period of transition for the club, with Jurgen Klopp stepping down and Feyenoord's Arne Slot poised to take the reins at Anfield.

As they navigate this transition phase, Liverpool are expected to be active in the transfer market, but any move for Olmo will likely be contingent on exits for one or more of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
