One of Jurgen Klopp's first Red Bull moves could STRENGTHEN Man Utd

When it was announced last week that Jurgen Klopp was set to become Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer, little attention was paid to the idea of him helping Liverpool’s direct rivals.

It’s understandable that the fanfare was around the legendary coach returning to football in general, as well as the moral conundrum of him joining the Red Bull group.

But between Klopp and his former assistant Pep Lijnders, who is having a torrid time as head coach of Red Bull Salzburg at current, Liverpool are now inextricably linked to the organisation.

And because of this, the report by TEAMtalk that Manchester United are interested in signing Salzburg right-back Amar Dedic in January leaves a bit of a bitter taste in the mouth of Reds.

By that point, Klopp will be in his role and Lijnders would surely have to give the green light for Dedic to leave. The idea of such iconic Liverpool figures aiding Manchester United in their aims to return to the top of English football won’t be received too kindly on Merseyside.

This is far from a given, though, as Brighton and Napoli are also reportedly interested in securing the Bosnian international’s services.

Dedic's Liverpool Dislike

Lijnders’ side already have a direct link to Liverpool, signing youngster Bobby Clark and taking Stefan Bajcetic on loan from Anfield.

The two have seen consistent action under Lijnders, but the Austrian giants have come under fire recently due to their abysmal results, the worst of which being a 5-0 drubbing by title rivals Sturm Graz in their last match.

After a 4-0 defeat in the Champions League to French side Brest at the start of the month, the Manchester United-linked Dedic declared “I won’t say the reasons now, but there are certainly reasons” for the side’s poor performances.

And although that statement is bizarrely cryptic, Austrian outlet

reported that some players have been unhappy about changes to the starting XI, least of all Bajcetic and Clark’s roles in the side.

The two unexpectedly made their Salzburg debuts against Sparta Prague in the Champions League, with the Austrian side going on to lose that game 3-0. Dedic, apparently, isn’t too happy with Lijnders’ apparent favouritism of his former Liverpool men.

It seems, then, that Manchester United might be the best place for him to be.
