He contributed an incredible assist for the in-form Emmanuel Latte Lathm on Saturday during Boro's 1-1 draw with Cardiff City. Doak drove down the right-hand side, producing a couple of step-overs before placing the ball perfectly to Lath to tap home.

That puts him on six assists for the season, and it's likely those numbers will increase.

It seems as if Boro are eager to keep hold of the Scottish international, but a permanent deal looks unlikely due to his fee.

His name has been thrown around multiple Premier League clubs with both Crystal Palace and Ipswich putting in bids for the youngster which were immediately turned down by the Reds.

As a result of this rejection, you would think Doak is in Arne Slot’s plans for next season. However, it is being reported that this is not the case and the winger will find himself at another club very soon.

Arne Slot disregards Doak

In an article by The Rousing Kop, it's reported that Liverpool have informed Doak that he is NOT part of their long-term project.

It identifies that Slot has even told the player himself that he is unlikely to make the squad in the future.

This must be a slap in the face for Doak, but also a huge blow for the fans. In his minimal appearances for the Reds, the forward has indicated signs of brilliance. A technically gifted player, he possesses shades of the great Mohamed Salah.

We even recently predicted Doak to be Liverpool's breakout star in 2025 following his scintillating form, but Slot seems to have other plans for the youngster.

Liverpool obviously value him highly, with Palace looking to make a second bid of around £30 million where their initial £15m was rejected.

But it seems his time on Merseyside may be up. It begs the question, will Liverpool regret selling him on so early into his career and will it come back to haunt them?
