Liverpool transfers: Midfielder TOP of Slot's wish list
Liverpool have been linked with a player that Arne Slot knows well as the new manager attempts to bolster his squad before the end of the transfer window.
While the Reds are the only team in the Premier League yet to make a signing due a failed bid for Martin Zubimendi and delays in finalising a move for goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, it could be a busy week with youth players on the way out and money waiting to be spent.
A midfielder has long been on Slot's shopping list, with a new link emerging with a player he used to manage at Feyenoord.

According to TEAMtalk, Slot isn't completely convinced by either Wataru Endo OR Curtis Jones in midfield, and wants to add a new player before the end of the window.
Quinten Timber is top of the list according to the report, which also links Liverpool with Borussia Monchengladbach's Manu Kone.
Atlanta's Teun Koopminers has also been offered to Liverpool, but looks increasingly likely to move to Juventus before the end of the transfer window.
Would Timber fit at Liverpool?
The Dutch midfielder made 31 appearances for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie last season under Slot, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists for his teammates.
Timber partnered Mats Wieffer – now at Brighton – in midfield for most of last season, operating in a midfield setup not dissimilar to the one Liverpool fans have seen in the opening two games of Slot's reign in charge, with Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister.
Timber could operate in either of those positions, but is most comfortable in a deeper position – the one Slot is so keen to fill this summer.
Gravenberch has started the season in great form, but his injury record and the sheer number of games Liverpool are expected to play this season means his workload will need to be managed.
A move for Timber – who is in contract until 2026 – could be a perfect fit due to his previous relationship with Slot.
The Feyenoord star cost £8m when he joined from Utrecht in 2022, but like many of Slot's previous players his value will be a lot higher if Liverpool do make a move before the end of the transfer window.
