Liverpool given green light to COMPLETE deal for Mo Salah replacement
Liverpool have reportedly been given the green light to go full steam ahead with a transfer for one of the Premier League’s most in-form players.
Arne Slot has the Reds firing on all cylinders this season, with his side currently nine points clear at the top of the Premier League and now massive favourites to bring the title back to Anfield in his first year at the club.

While the on-field success has been outstanding, there are still massive concerns for all fans with the situation surrounding the contracts of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.
Van Dijk is expected to announce an deal with the club in the near future, as Anfield Watch exclusively reported last month, while there is yet to be any sign of an agreement with Trent, whose most likely destination away from Liverpool remains Real Madrid.
There have been plenty of Salah-related bombshells in recent weeks. First there were his explosive comments after the win over Southampton, then reports that PSG were in talks with him over a potential move to the French champions.
PSG claimed that those links were pushed by Salah’s agent, Ramy Ababs, to pressure Liverpool into reaching an agreement with the Egyptian.
However, Salah now reportedly is willing to agree to a one-year deal to stay at the club - a sign of just how much he wants to remain at Liverpool, perhaps.
FSG line up Semenyo as potential Salah replacement
Whether he stays or goes, Liverpool will need to replace Salah eventually. Football Insider are reporting that Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo is a candidate for that role, and that his club would not stand in the way of a potential transfer next summer.
Bournemouth are expecting offers to come for Semenyo, who has been in brilliant form for Andoni Iraola’s side this season.
Semenyo opened the scoring for the Cherries against Man City in November in a game that helped spark the incredible downfall of Pep Guardiola’s side in recent weeks.
The report states that Bournemouth are unwilling to sell their star man during the January transfer window, but would accept a reasonable offer for him next summer.
There’s still a long time to go until then, and between now and June we’ll find out a lot more about how Liverpool plan to replace Salah in the long-term.
If he stays for a year, as is now an option, Semenyo could work as a backup option before taking over in 2026, but if he leaves at the end of the season it would be a huge leap for the Bournemouth man to replace him in a like-for-like situation.
