Liverpool will be in the market for a left-back in the summer transfer window and they could look to repeat what they once did with Andy Robertson.

Anfield Watch has revealed that the Reds have held preliminary talks with Milos Kerkez. But it's important to note the Hungarian is not the only left-back on the club's shortlist.

Liverpool are exploring multiple options in the market and will have compiled a list of players to pursue of which Kerkez will undeniably be one of them.

Another player who should be on the list is a left-back who could easily get relegated from the Premier League this year - giving Liverpool an opportunity to repeat what they once did with Andy Robertson.

Why Liverpool should target Leif Davis

Newly promoted Championship side, Ipswich haven't really set the Premier League alight since returning to England's top tier.

They are currently sitting in 18th position and look destined to be relegated come the end of the campaign.

And while Ipswich haven't done well, one star has caught the eye in Leif Davis, who could potentially be an ideal successor to Andy Robertson's throne at Anfield.

The 25-year-old is an accomplished defender but also a brilliant creator who is very capable of making the difference at the other end of the pitch.

He has four goal contributions for Ipswich already in this campaign as as per Football Critic has created 10 big chances in the Premier League.

On top of that, he averages 9.2 passes into the opposition's final third per 90 and a whopping 4.9 crosses per 90 - highlighting just how active he has been to Ipswich's build-up play and attack.

This was of course already evident in the Championship where Davis registered 21 assists in 43 matches. The fact that he has been able to carry on his influence in the Premier League is a really encouraging sign.

There's a top player in Davis, just like there was once a top player in Robertson while he was at Hull City.

Liverpool pounced then when Hull City's relegation was confirmed to sign the bargain of the century in Robertson. Now this summer the Reds can do the same with Davis, if Ipswich do have to say goodbye to the Premier League.

This is a player well worth keeping an eye on. Liverpool will always spend their money wisely and Davis seems like an astute investment which wouldn't break the bank for the Reds.
