Ancelotti's INCREDIBLE Alexander-Arnold SNUB ahead of Liverpool vs Real Madrid
Liverpool’s incredible start to the season sees them top of both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Arne Slot has already got his side to a level where they are genuine challengers for some of the biggest trophies in world football.

The biggest problem for Liverpool this season has been the contract renewals of the captain Virgil van Dijk, vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold and talisman Mohamed Salah, all of whom will leave Anfield for free at the end of the season unless extensions are agreed.
Things are getting complicated however, especially in the case of Salah, but things may have become a bit clearer on the future of Alexander-Arnold.
Ancelotti’s Alexander-Arnold snub
The biggest admirer of Alexander-Arnold has been Real Madrid according to reports, and Los Blancos will be in town to take on Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Although Real Madrid are supposed to be the main suiter for Trent should he leave Merseyside, their manager Carlo Ancelotti inadvertently snubbed the 26-year-old in his pre-match press conference.
When asked if the plan was to play Fede Valverde at right-back for the clash, Ancelotti revealed he prefers Valverde to any other right-back not currently at Real Madrid.
“[Valverde] is a fantastic full-back. After [Dani] Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez, the best right-back in the world.” Ancelotti told the press, via AS.
Although the remark is not a direct dig at Alexander-Arnold, the manager was effectively saying he think Valverde is a better option in the position than the Liverpool man.
Trent’s future at Liverpool
Although Alexander-Arnold is a doubt for the Reds’ clash with Real Madrid, he has returned to team training.
The fullback has repeatedly urged that he doesn’t want his contract renewal to be played out in public, and he appears to be getting his wish.
Negotiations have reportedly begun to keep Alexander-Arnold at Anfield beyond the end of the season, but they appear to be stalling, and supporters are starting to get worried.
Slot has also refused to speak about any contract renewals multiple times in press conferences.
Trent has maintained his level of performance on the pitch, albeit with slightly less returns due to the change in Liverpool’s system under Slot, but this snub from Ancelotti could be the sign that he needs to dedicate his future to the Reds.
It is worth noting that Ancelotti will likely leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and Xabi Alonso, who has a good relationship with Trent, is rumoured to be his replacement.
Only time will tell whether Trent’s future lies at Anfield or at the Bernabeu but supporters will hope the star will give his all to Slot’s side for the rest of the season.
