Liverpool transfers: Reds preparing for Alisson to receive 'jaw-dropping' Saudi offer
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is set to soon receive a “jaw-dropping” offer from one of the top clubs in Saudi Arabia.
That’s according to a new report in Football Insider, which claims efforts are intensifying in the Saudi Pro League to strike a deal for the Reds No.1.
The report also adds that Liverpool have no intention of cashing in on the 31-year-old but are worried about the prospect of Alisson having his head turned.
Ederson of Manchester City is another high-profile goalkeeper being targetted for a role in the SPL next season.
Alisson is under contract until 2027 at Anfield and earns around £210,000 per week.
While Ederson had already agreed to move, Al-Nassr were seeking to reduce Man City’s asking price from €50 million to €30m.
The Saudi club were prepared to walk away from the deal should no compromise be struck and instead pursue a deal for Alisson with Liverpool.
Brazil international Alisson has been with Liverpool since 2018, winning top honours in the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, FA Cup among other competitions.
He has also won The Best FIFA Goalkeeper award and is a two-time nominee to the FIFA FIFPro Men’s World 11.
All change for Liverpool
There is considerable goalkeeping uncertainty around Anfield this summer with Adrian San Miguel leaving on a free transfer and Caoimhin Kelleher desiring a move in order to become a No.1 keeper in his own right.
The Reds have also added Fabian Otte as a new goalkeeping coach with long-term servant John Achterberg leaving after 15 years of service.
Should Liverpool opt to cash in on Alisson then they could be looking for three senior goalkeeping options with Vitezslav Jaros also returning to the club after a loan spell in Austria with Sturm Graz.
