Liverpool transfers: Interest grows around French midfielder Adrien Rabiot

With just over a week to go of the transfer window, Liverpool are yet to make any new signings. But could a free transfer solve their misery?

Its been no secret that Arne Slot has been looking to bolster his midfield this summer, losing out on Martin Zubimendi who opted to stay at boyhood club Real Sociedad.

Frenchman Adrien Rabiot has been left without a club after he refused to accept a new deal offered by Juventus before the end of his contract.

Is Rabiot the right fit?

Now according to L'Equipe, Rabiot is waiting for his mum and agent Veronique to find him a club that matches his aspirations of playing Champions League and Club World Cup football.

Liverpool are among clubs such as Inter Milan and Bayern Munich who are interested in the 29-year old, while Manchester United were also reportedly interested but have since pulled out of the race.

Rabiot could fit into Slot's side and has a proven track record of winning trophies, winning seven league titles to date.

Rabiot offers another option in the defensive midfielder role, something that Liverpool has been lacking in recent seasons.

While they have Wataru Endo who impressed in the Premier League last season, it has been made clear he isn't part of Slot's plans.

However, the former PSG man is turning 30 next April and with FSG reluctant to offer contracts to players that age or over it could prove difficult to get a deal over the line.

Last-minute reinforcements?

With just days to go until the window closes and seemingly more outgoings than incomings, could they make a last ditch attempt to bring in players?

With Giorgi Mamardashvili creeping closer to an agreement, there is still time to bring in one maybe two more players.

Teun Koopmeiners has also been heavily linked to the Reds and could leave Richard Hughes and Slot a difficult decision to make.
