Liverpool have worked tirelessly to stack their academy with the best young talents in the world.

In addition to homegrown players on Merseyside, the addition of Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea have ensured the club has plenty of promising talents, knocking on the door of the first team.

Working much in the same way as Jurgen Klopp did during his tenure at the club, Arne Slot has already identified Trey Nyoni as a player who Liverpool can give experience to straight away.

As such, the work of transfers never really stops in between the transfer windows, as scouts are constantly looking at who the club should focus their attention on next.

Liverpool targeting Mathis Eboue

Watford forward Mathis Eboue has liked a Liverpool-focused Instagram post that reported the club's interest in the player with the post claiming the Reds even offered him a professional contract.

Despite being just 15 years old, the striker has featured for England at the U16 level and is tipped to be one of the best talents coming through the ranks.

The player has yet to feature for Watford, but he was pictured on Instagram in the London club's first-team training session ahead of the team's Championship clash against Blackburn Rovers.

As such, Liverpool may be on the verge of yet another transfer heist for a talented young player.

Mathis is also the son of former Arsenal cult hero Emmanuel Eboue, who spent seven years in the Premier League.

Liverpool are no strangers to working with players whose families have a long history in football.

For example, Lewis Koumas is currently on loan at Stoke City, earmarked as a big player for the future, and his father Jason spent a substantial period of his career playing for Wigan in the Premier League.

Likewise, Liverpool gave 18-year-old Jayden Danns his Liverpool debut last season, when he scored twice at Anfield in the FA Cup, and he is famously the son of Neil Danns who spent 20 years playing in the English Football League.

Although it was the Gunners that released the player to Watford in the first place, Eboue's resilience has helped him to make the most of the opportunities he is getting at such a young age and should Liverpool act on their interest then he would be another significant scalp claimed by the club.
