Alexander-Arnold could join Real Madrid if the Reds relent and agree a fee however it’s now more likely that he will join Los Blancos on a free in the summer.

Nunez, meanwhile, is wanted by Al-Hilal boss Jorge Jesus but the Saudi Pro League giants’ original bid has fallen short of Liverpool’s asking price.

Ben Doak could also be on the move with two Premier League clubs - Crystal Palace and Ipswich - interested in acquiring his services.

On the loan front it is expected that Tyler Morton and Jayden Danns could head out with strong interest in both homegrown prospects from the Championship.

Elsewhere, Kaide Gordon has returned to Anfield from Norwich having failed to nail down regular first-team football during the first half of his loan spell.

Liverpool are expected to ensure the England under-20 international gets another club for the second half of the campaign.

Luke Chambers' move rated at '50/50'

Meanwhile, Calvin Ramsay has completed a loan move to Kilmarnock for the second half of the season having had his initial spell at Wigan curtailed.

He was one of TWO Liverpool players on loan under Shaun Maloney at the League One side this term. Luke Chambers was the other and the full-back ALSO returned to his parent club early.

That wasn’t because of a lack of form but the left-back suffered a recurrence of a serious back injury in October which led him to return to Liverpool for treatment.

Now back in training, his future remains uncertain with Maloney admitting that he doesn’t know whether or not he will get the 20-year-old back in order to complete his loan spell.

"I think there's still a little bit of doubt regarding Luke," the manager told Wigan Today. "He's back doing rehab on the grass at Liverpool, but he has another scan coming up.

"It's still 50-50 on whether he comes back, but obviously we're all desperate to have him stay with us."

First-team football would clearly be of benefit to Chambers, who impressed with Wigan when fit, but he has also been tipped to move further up the pyramid with Championship clubs reported to be keen.
