European GIANTS are now very KEEN on Wataru Endo transfer

Liverpool have excelled this season under new head coach Arne Slot but one member of the Reds’ squad has barely featured under the Dutchman.

Slot’s side are currently top of the Premier League and have only conceded twice in their opening seven matches in the competition.

During the Reds’ impressive start in the league Wataru Endo has been limited to two one-minute cameos and the Japanese veteran midfielder doesn’t appear to be a part of Slot’s plans.

The emergence of Ryan Gravenberch as Liverpool’s first-choice holding midfielder has hampered the number of opportunities awarded to Endo and the 31-year-old could soon be on his way out of Anfield.

Inter Milan interested in Wataru Endo

According to a report from InterLive.it, the reigning Italian champions Inter Milan would be keen in bringing Endo to the San Siro.

The report claims that Inter Milan are looking to bolster their options in midfield and see Endo as the ideal candidate for the role despite his age.

It also adds that concerns about the midfielders age are alleviated by his popularity in his home nation of Japan and that Inter are interested in expanding into the Asian market.

Endo is valued at €15.3 million by Football Transfers and a move away from Merseyside seems likely for the former Stuttgart captain.

Would Liverpool need to replace Endo?

Although Endo has been limit to only 85 minutes in all competitions this season his place in the Liverpool squad isn’t completely redundant.

So far this season Gravenberch has been available for every single match and so Endo has been limited to only one start in the Carabao Cup but an injury to Gravenberch could see him needed more in the starting XI.

There is also Tyler Morton, who remains at the club but has only played eight minutes for the Reds since Slot’s arrival.

Morton has performed well for the U21s this season and, after impressing on loan at Hull last season, could be ready to step up and be a part of the first-team squad were Endo to leave.

It remains to be seen how serious Inter Milan’s interest in Endo is but it isn’t too hard to picture a world where the Japanese midfielder moves on from Anfield in the near future.
