Virgil van Dijk considers ASTONISHING treble-your-money contract offer
Liverpool’s elimination from the Champions League could bring the futures of several star players into sharper focus. There are questions over plenty of the Reds’ top stars after the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week.
For example, has Trent Alexander-Arnold played in red for the final time?

He was injured in the PSG game and no timeframe has yet been put on his recovery. With his contract expiring in summer 2025, there is the possibility that the next time he laces up his boots he might be doing so for Real Madrid.

Mo Salah was in TEARS after the final whistle at Anfield on Tuesday night, perhaps indicating that his Champions League race with the Reds had been run. He too is scheduled to leave the club at the end of the season with Saudi Arabian interest in his services.
The club most closely linked with a move for Salah has been Al Hilal and a concerning development now revolves around Salah’s fellow Liverpool veteran Virgil van Dijk.
Al Hilal make €20m contract offer
Earlier this season Anfield Watch reported that barring some bizarre late hitch then the 33-year-old’s contract renewal would go ahead as planned.
However it appears there is a spanner in the works.
2025 began with no renewal and then European suitors in Van Dijk were said to be encouraged in reaching out to the Dutchman over contract offers.
And in the background all the while have been Al-Hilal. Now L’Equipe is reporting that the Saudi super club have offered Van Dijk a contract worth a staggering €20 MILLION (£16.7m) net to join them.
Van Dijk is currently earning just over ÂŁ11m gross at Liverpool - per Capology, meaning the Saudi offer is worth around three times his annual Anfield take-home pay.
“The Dutchman has received an initial offer from Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) worth more than €20 million net,” L’Equipe states.
“The Reds captain is considering the move and has not yet responded, preferring to focus on the end of the season, notably with Sunday's League Cup final against Newcastle, and another Premier League title in sight.”
The Netherlands’ captain stated earlier this week that he had no idea whether he’d be at Liverpool next season. But one thing is now for sure.

If contract renewals are going to come down to financial considerations then FSG won’t be able to compete with what’s on offer in the Saudi Pro League.
