Victor Osimhen is coming and he will lead Liverpool to GLORY
Liverpool’s centre-forward situation has been an issue this season despite the fact that they have been the best team in the world.
Diogo Jota’s injury and Darwin Nunez’s lacklustre play have meant that Liverpool have begun to look elsewhere, with a whole host of names being in the fray to lead the Reds’ attacking line.

As exclusively reported by Anfield Watch earlier this week, the club are interested in securing the services of Nigerian ace Victor Osimhen to be their number nine going forward.
The striker is currently operating on loan for Turkish side Galatasaray after botched transfer deals with both Saudi side Al-Ahli and Premier League rivals Chelsea fell through, leading to Osimhen falling out of favour with his parent club, Napoli.
He has already bagged 13 goals in 16 games in Turkey, adding to the 76 he scored during his four seasons in Italy.
As a result, there is a realistic expectation that he would be able to provide something that Liverpool don’t have right now.
His 10 league goals so far this season come from 8.93 expected goals, suggesting that he has an exceptional finishing ability (which also is apparent when you watch him play).
But one of his standout talents is his ability to find and exploit space in defensive lines. A stark example here would be when Galatasaray were visited by Tottenham in the Europa League earlier this season.
How would Osimhen operate in the Premier League?
Tottenham’s defensive line isn’t the most solid, as Liverpool are very aware, but Osimhen was demonic in his relentlessness. One of his earliest chances came by drifting off the right centre-back into a half space and shaping to shoot into the far corner with the effort well saved. Only minutes later did he drift off the right back this time, turning in an accurate cross that was just judged to be offside.
Osimhen is a lethal force
He then got his first goal of the game just after, pressing with intensity and winning the ball back before streaking in behind the defence and finishing first time with a creative toepoke.
He got his second before half-time too, finding space between centre-back Radu Dragusin and right-back Pedro Porro to turn home an inch-perfect cross.
It is just one example but it’s emblematic of the wider ways in which the striker could be a lethal force at Liverpool. The Reds have creative players all over the pitch, with countless defenders that can find long through balls if needed alongside creative midfielders and obviously dynamic wide attackers.
A devastating goalscorer like Osimhen would make them a truly terrifying proposition. And with him almost certain to permanently leave Napoli this summer, Liverpool should make their interest known.
