Questions persist over Nunez’s consistency while Jota has been unable to convince when fit. Furthermore, Mohamed Salah hasn’t yet signed a new contract while Luis Diaz and Federico Chiesa could also see their future come under scrutiny.

The Reds have been linked with several top forwards - including Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike - and there is another intriguing name in the mix too.

Osimhen holds talks with ALL the big clubs

Victor Osimhen completed a last-minute loan deal to Galatasaray from Napoli last summer having seen his ambitions of a permanent move elsewhere collapse.

The Nigerian hitman has since scored 26 goals in only 29 Turkish Super Lig and Europa League matches - including a continental brace against Tottenham.

He will be on the move this summer - with a reported £62 million buyout in his Napoli contract - and he will also command a sizeable salary.

But if Liverpool can make room in the budget by off-loading some of their current options then signing the 26-year-old appears a no-brainer.

Osimhen’s Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong recently appeared on talkSPORT and admitted that the superstar forward was bound for the Premier League.

While conceding that Osimhen was a boyhood Chelsea fan, he also dropped the tantalising prospect that he could be on his way to Anfield.

'It worked out AMAZINGLY for him'

“I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team,” the 31-year-old defender said.

“I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.

“I’m also reading, like everyone else is, that he has a clause this summer. When he went to Galatasaray I think it worked out amazingly for him.

“I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season.”

Osimhen WOULD suit Premier League

Osimhen’s rate of goalscoring for Gala has put him back on the radar of all the Premier League’s big-hitters, including Chelsea and Manchester United, and he has netted SIX times in only his last three league games.

Troost-Ekong, who plays for Al Kholood in Saudi Arabia, also revealed that Osimhen his working on getting even better in front of goal, before providing a laundry list of the kind of qualities he will provide at his next club.

“It’s the part he’s working on the most,” he said of the No9’s finishing skills. “His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, he’ll chase down every ball. In the air he’s amazing. You can play the ball up to him and he’ll hold the ball up.

“If he’s one-on-one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score.

“He’s direct so I think that’s why he would suit the Premier League.”
