‘EXCEPTIONAL’ Liverpool midfielder set to make shock move
Tyler Morton enjoyed a breakout spell on loan at Championship side Hull City last season. Having returned to Liverpool over summer, the midfielder featured under Arne Slot in pre-season.
The England under-21 international is one of the most promising young players around and it was in the balance whether he would remain with the senior side or else depart the club permanently or on loan last summer.

He was linked with a loan move to Bayer Leverkusen, among others, while a host of Championship clubs were also interested. RB Leipzig were also reported to be interested in Morton with a price tag of £20 million discussed.
Ultimately Morton stayed put but has played more football for the Reds’ under-21 side than for the first team this season.
And it seems now he's no longer being linked with clubs from the top five leagues, but instead he could be set for a shock move to another Championship club.
Sheffield United want Tyler Morton
The 22-year-old has been on the bench for Arne Slot’s side in the Premier League although has yet to make an appearance but he has featured twice in the EFL Cup, starting against Brighton in the fourth round.
But it has so far not proven to be the campaign Morton might have expected given the strides the homegrown prospect made last term. Accordingly he has been linked with a January move to Sheffield United, who are currently top of the Championship.
The Sheffield Star reports that the Blades are seeking midfield cover following an injury to captain Oliver Arblaster. The 20-year-old sensation is unlikely to play again this season following a long-term ACL injury and had been integral to United’s promotion hopes.
Morton has been described as an 'exceptional' midfielder in the past, and we think he's definitely good enough to play one level higher than the Championship.
If he is to leave it would be a major shock.
Liverpool on Arblaster trail
Chris Wilder’s side are therefore seeking reinforcements and have reportedly identified Morton as the man to lead their charge to the top flight. Anfieldwatch reported back in February that the Reds were interested in signing Arblaster.
Sporting director Richard Hughes may well have a decision to make over Morton in the new year, with his career at a crossroads and the player in need of some first-team football.
