Salah, 32, has been attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal while the Egyptian King is also reported to retain admirers from within Europe.

Van Dijk, meanwhile, has been offered a €100 million deal of a lifetime by Paris Saint-Germain with the player’s patience running thin over FSG’s slow movement regarding a new contract.

And if the 26-year-old opts to leave his boyhood club then a space will open up in the Liverpool squad for a new right-back. Conor Bradley has deputised well but the last few weeks have shown that extra cover in the position is required.

One of the most recently linked names has been Wesley Franca.

The 21-year-old Flamengo right-back has a contract until 2028 and is expected to fetch around €30 million (£25m) to €35m (£30m) in the transfer market next summer.

Liverpool reach out to Flamengo over Wesley

Liverpool have ALREADY reached out to Flamengo to discuss a deal, according to UOL in Brazil, and face competition from Barcelona for his signature.

Wesley has recently been called into the Brazil senior squad, which will augment his value, and his club rejected an offer from Zenit for his services in January.

He is expected to become the third most expensive sale in the club’s history - behind only Vinicius Junior, who moved to Real Madrid for €45m, and Lucas Paqueta, who joined Milan for €35m.

Wesley is seen as one of the best young Brazilian players around, making a huge impression since breaking into the Flamengo team in 2023. Flamengo will take part in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, after which Copa do Brasil winner Wesley should take his leave.
