Trent Alexander-Arnold's contract expires at the end of the season. That much is clear - everything else surrounding the situation, less so.

The Scouser hasn't really talked about his contract at all, in stark contrast to Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk. The latter pair were always happy to explain what was going on, even if they didn't have much to update on.
Alexander-Arnold? Complete radio silence until he had to do a post-match interview after his winner against Leicester City last weekend.
That fuels the fire that he's off, of course. Real Madrid are intensely interested in signing him up and did actually try to get a deal done back in January.
Liverpool rejected that approach, wanting to hold onto the player for the run-in. And rightly so.
But they're powerless to stop a move in the summer. The best they can do is persuade Alexander-Arnold to sign a new contract.

Hope for Liverpool?

There's no need to.
We're not going to hold our collective breath, certainly, but this one might not be done and dusted. It certainly appeared that way last month.
And who knows? Maybe the title charge and the parade and all of that incredible unity convince Alexander-Arnold to remain with his boyhood club.
