Fabrizio Romano confirms transfer talks in FINAL stages
Liverpool are on the cusp of securing their 20th league title, but focus is already switching to what will happen after.
The approaching summer transfer window could be era-defining as Arne Slot and Richard Hughes look to really make their mark on this Liverpool squad.

Securing contract extensions for both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk is a great start, but there is still plenty of work to be done at Anfield.
A number of current Reds are facing uncertain futures and, as the transfer window moves closer to opening, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that one deal is already in its final stages.
Romano confirms deal is close
Speaking on his YouTube channel, transfer guru Romano has confirmed that the departure of Liverpool’s vice-captain, Trent Alexander-Arnold, is nearing completion.
“The agreement between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid is yet to be completed in terms of signing the contract, but verbally it is at the final stages.”
This update won’t come as a surprise to the majority of Liverpool fans, and Romano confirmed that the deal is soon expected to be given his famous ‘here we go’ status.

Speculation linking Trent with a move to the Spanish giants dates back to before the start of the season, but momentum has grown in recent months.
It would appear that even the 26-year-old’s fellow out-of-contract stars committing to Anfield hasn’t been enough to convince him to stay at his boyhood club.
Life after Trent Alexander-Arnold
It has looked for some time like Liverpool will enter next season without their star right-back, but that possibility is now becoming a reality.
A number of Reds have been trusted to deputise for Trent this season, including Curtis Jones and Jarell Quansah, but it will likely be Conor Bradley who steps up full-time if Liverpool’s no.66 does leave Merseyside.
The Reds have also been linked with a number of potential replacements, with names such as Jeremie Frimpong in the conversation.
Losing Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer is obviously not ideal for Liverpool, but at the end of March it looked like the club were set to lose three of their biggest stars so Richard Hughes must be given some credit for mitigating the damage.
After facing a few weeks on the side-line due to injury, Trent has now returned to training and could still play a part in Liverpool’s run-in which could make announcing a deal to leave the club for free a bit more difficult.

Nothing is official yet, but Fabrizio Romano seems confident so it seems only a matter of time before Trent Alexander-Arnold is announced as a Real Madrid player.
