Trent Alexander-Arnold contract agreement is DONE
Liverpool have got three stars approaching the end of their contracts.
Captain Virgil van Dijk, top scorer Mohamed Salah and homegrown hero Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract in summer 2025 and as of January 1 have been free to speak to potentially interested overseas teams.

Van Dijk’s situation remains shrouded in mystery as it’s believed the Dutch defender will stay at the club but so far no announcement has been forthcoming.
Salah, who is reported to want to stay at the club, is now the subject of increasingly heavy transfer speculation from Saudi Arabia with several reports that a deal with Al-Hilal is practically agreed.
Heading into the January transfer window it was Alexander-Arnold who appeared in the most doubt with Real Madrid making an attempt to sign him.
Liverpool rebuffed those attempts but that left them vulnerable to losing Trent on a free should Madrid approach him directly. And according to El Chiringuito in Spain, that’s exactly what has transpired.
The popular night-time show has sensationally claimed that a deal is now agreed for Alexander-Arnold to play for Real Madrid from next season onwards.
No further details on the contract - such as signing-on fees, salary or duration are shared but it’s also claimed that there remains a possibility that the 26-year-old could yet move in the January window.
El Chiringuito, like other Spanish outlets, is claiming that Liverpool currently value Trent at €70 million. Given that Madrid have been reported as willing to pay only between €10m and €25m, an agreement looks some way off.
However, given their recent 5-2 Spanish Super Cup loss to Barcelona - and Lucas Vazquez’s struggles at right-back in the encounter - current circumstances could bring Madrid back to the table.
“Arnold has already closed an agreement with Real Madrid to join in June,” El Chiringuito’s Josep Pedrerol claimed on Tuesday night. “There are still some minor details, but if nothing happens, Arnold will play for Real Madrid next season. Because he will arrive at Real Madrid on a free transfer.”
Of Madrid’s attempts to sign Trent in January, Pedrerol claimed that a deal could be done for around €30m to €35m. “There is a possibility that Liverpool will lower their demands and the figure that Liverpool set will be less than €30m to €35m,” he said.
“Which seems very difficult because Liverpool is fighting for everything, so Liverpool letting a starting full-back go now is very complicated. “Madrid is not going to spend 70 or 80 million when Arnold is going to arrive for free in May or June.
“But Real Madrid is going to try to get someone to join in January, who will not go over €30m or €40m. That figure is the maximum. So we are at that point.
“Arnold will arrive at Real Madrid in the summer. But he could arrive this month, provided that Liverpool lower their demands to less than €35m. Maximum perhaps €40m.
“So, Arnold is done for June, possibility for January.”
