Surprise Liverpool guest hints at MAJOR announcement
Liverpool welcomed a notable name to Anfield on Sunday as they beat Wolves 2-1 in the Premier League.
Liverpool have had an interesting season on and off the field. It's easy to see why things are so notable on the pitch, of course - Arne Slot has the Reds sitting at the top of the Premier League.

Off the pitch, though, things are a bit more mysterious. The big conversation surrounds contracts, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk all on expiring deals.
But they're not even the only ones with notable situations. Luis Diaz reportedly rejected a contract offer earlier this season. Ibrahima Konate is entering the final year of his - and has interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Those are all situations that need sorting this year. Maybe it's by moving all of them on. Maybe it's by renewing all of their contracts.
The reality is more likely to be that some stay and some go. Regardless, major decisions must be made and there's an awful lot of risk involved here.
And that makes one Anfield guest particularly notable.

Tom Werner at Anfield
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner was at Anfield on Sunday as the Reds beat Wolves 2-1. Based in America, it's rare for Werner to make the trip but it appears he's been in England for at least the last day.
He was making baseball calls for the Boston Red Sox from England, certainly, after the team made a major signing this week. Despite that signing, though, Werner has gone to Liverpool.
Given all the deals that need making, this could be a big sign. Could. Pinpointing the decision-makers at Liverpool is a complex business right now, with so many sitting in various important roles.

But it is notable that at least one of the higher-ups has made the trip this week. We continue to get closer and closer to finding out ultimate decisions here and if anything is going to happen soon, you would expect at least one of the high-up FSG names to be on Merseyside.
It could be nothing - but it could also be a sign that Liverpool are getting at least one major deal done.

Comments
Wait till you see any Liverpool player sat at a desk with a pen in his hand and a contract in front of him, with Slot one side, Hughes the other. Until then believe nothing, because at the end of the season it could easily be 'Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda'.
My view anyway.
