As well as the players who are well established in the first team, there are some on the periphery such as Tyler Morton, Trey Nyoni, Amara Nallo and more recently Rio Ngumoha.
Although the Reds track record for developing young players is excellent, not every player from the academy can become a star at Anfield, and the departure of one top talent is now being reported.
Tom Hill to leave Liverpool
Followers of Liverpool’s youth teams will be familiar with the name Tom Hill.
Hill joined the academy at under-six level and has been a bright prospect since having spent 18 years at the club, making his first and only senior appearance for the Reds in a Carabao Cup game in 2019.
The 22-year-old was also included in the senior squad’s tour of Asia in July 2022.
Despite showing plenty of potential, Hill’s path to the first team has been hampered by injury, and the midfielder is now reportedly set to move to Harrogate Town on an 18-month contract according to Paul Gorst.
Hill suffered a knee injury that required surgery in September 2020 that would keep him out of action for 20 months.
Having already represented Wales at u21 level, Hill will be hoping that the move to Harrogate, who sit 19th in League Two, can get his career back on track.
The midfielder has made 10 appearances for Liverpool’s u21s this season - he is the captain for the U21 side and has also captained the Reds at U18 level as well.
An official announcement hasn’t yet been made but Liverpool supporters undoubtedly will wish the youngster well when his departure is confirmed.
