The million-pound question at Liverpool remains the same as it has ever been. Well for the last few years at least.

As Mohamed Salah's contract trickles down and the prospect of him leaving the club increases with every passing day, just how on earth do you replace one of the best players on the planet?

Liverpool are eyeing Diogo Jota's potential replacement, with a move for Lille's Jonathan David on the cards, according to Inter Live.

The 24-year-old Canadian attacker has long been linked with a move away from Ligue 1, and it's not the first time he's attracted interest from Merseyside.

David was also considered back in 2020 before the Reds decided to sign Jota, but an Anfield move for the Canadian forward could now be back on.

Liverpool were also heavily linked with an approach for David during the summer transfer window, but he ended up staying at Lille.

Kelleher transfer stance

It's no secret that the 26-year-old keeper wanted to leave Anfield in the summer. However, the Reds rejected offers from Nottingham Forest determined to keep the player on Merseyside.

With the introduction of Giorgi Mamardashvili next summer, Kelleher is expected to once again push for a move.

Speaking to the Anfield Agenda, journalist David Lynch would be surprised if the Irishman doesn't leave.

"I still lean towards the idea that Kelleher will go" said Lynch. "I'd be really surprised, the fact he continues to perform at this level surely clubs are not mad enough to keep watching this and not thinking its worth at least paying £25m to get him out of Liverpool.

"Surely that happens next season and he gets the move that he absolutely deserves."

Transfer guru leaves

Liverpool formally announced on Friday evening that Dave Fallows will leave the Reds after 12 years. Sporting director Richard Hughes paid tribute in a statement.

Fallows will leave as Liverpool's director of scouting and recruitment. He initially joined as a scout back in 2012 after working for a string of Premier League clubs.

His fingerprints are on some of the most important transfers in Liverpool's history. The Reds' system of combining data-driven scouting with traditional scouting and video analysis has delivered incredible results over the last decade - and Fallows has been there through it all.
