The countdown to the summer transfer window is well and truly on and we have all the latest Liverpool transfer news today (Wednesday May 29).

The Reds are already being linked with multiple targets as they look to retool their squad after the departure of Jurgen Klopp and the arrival of Arne Slot.

Feyenoord star Bijlow 'OPEN' to Anfield move

Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow admits he is keen on a reunion with Arne Slot at Liverpool amid reports of interest from Merseyside. However, the Reds will face competition from Arsenal for the Dutchman's signature.

Liverpool’s interest in the 26-year-old predates Slot’s appointment as head coach, according to reports in the Netherlands, and club staff have scouted the Dutch international on numerous occasions over the course of the past season.

Bijlow played four times in the Champions League last season - against Lazio twice, Atletico Madrid and Celtic - and is reported to have been watched by Liverpool AND Arsenal scouts.

The Gunners are in the market for a No.2 goalkeeper to challenge first-choice David Raya, with it expected that Aaron Ramsdale will leave the club this summer.

And with both sides linked, the Netherlands’ Euro 2024 nominee feels ready for a move to the Premier League.

“Would I stay at Feyenoord? You never know, do you? That’s football. You don’t know that,” he told Voetbalzone.

“I’m ambitious, I’ve always said that. If the opportunity presents itself and a good club comes from abroad, I am open to it.

“As long as I am under contract with Feyenoord, that is never a punishment and I will give everything as long as I play there.

“Those [Liverpool and Arsenal] are two very nice clubs. Of course it is always nice to be mentioned at big clubs.

Virgil van Dijk admits NO TALKS about new Liverpool contract

Virgil van Dijk is about to enter the last 12 months of his current Liverpool contract and admits there have been NO TALKS about a new one yet.

The 32-year-old defender sees his terms expire in 2025 alongside another high-profile duo in Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold but negotiations appear at a standstill for all three Liverpool superstars

Van Dijk, the club captain, has been rumoured to be a transfer target for Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and money-bags Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Qadsiah with this summer representing the club’s last chance to cash in should they choose to do so.

First Koopmeiners OFFER as midfielder race hots up

Liverpool clearly face significant competition in the race to sign Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, with Italian giants Juventus making a move to get ahead in the battle to sign him.

The Reds have long been linked with the 26-year-old Dutch playmaker, who was instrumental in helping the Bergamo outfit claim Europa League glory this season. That run to the final of course included a quarter-final success over Jurgen Klopp's men.

Juventus though are big admirers of Koopmeiners, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport they have already formulated their opening offer to Atalanta.

Per the respected Italian daily, it may not be successful though as the €40m plus €5m in add-ons will fall well short of the €60m valuation Atalanta have for their talented star man.

Gazzetta reports that Juventus have a contingency plan though, which could be to insert their Dutch-born defender Dean Huijsen into the deal as a makeweight. Huijsen has just returned to Turin after a loan spell with Roma, and is also interesting Borussia Dortmund.

Ryan Gravenberch makes HUGE decision on Liverpool future

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch says he's happy at Anfield and wants to stay - despite speculation he could leave this summer.

Article continues under the video

The 22-year-old Dutchman showed flashes of real promise in starting 26 Premier League games following a big-money move from Bayern Munich last year. But in recent weeks he has been consistently linked with a transfer to Turkey this summer.

Gravenberch though says he has no intention of leaving Merseyside after just one season, telling Dutch outlet AD: “I hope to play here at Liverpool for years to come, it’s a top club.

"I’ve never spoken to Arne Slot but he is a trainer who likes attacking football. That should suit me, you would think. We will see!”

Liverpool vs Bayern for £70m Porto star Varela

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have now both enquired about signing the Porto midfielder Alan Varela, according to a new report in Argentina.

Porto finished third in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, meaning there will be no Champions League football for the club next season.

That means there could be an opportunity for interested parties to pick up some of Porto’s most bankable assets as the club seeks to make up a budgetary shortfall.

Reds face big competition for £51m midfielder Dani Olmo

Liverpool have been joined by two Premier League rivals since registering their interest in a £51m playmaker. They’re now up against the clock.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Liverpool are in the race for Dani Olmo this summer. They're not the first to claim this, either.

Sport suggested the same as Barcelona now risk losing out on one of their long-term transfer targets. They've wanted Olmo back at the club for a long time now.

Bother believe the Reds could be the ones to end their hopes as Olmo nears an exit ahead of next season. He has a release clause in his contract of around £51m but it expires on July 15th.

It means clubs are up against the clock to secure Olmo for that price. It's why Liverpool suddenly have a lot more competition.

PSG join race to sign Luis Diaz this summer

Luis Diaz is a reported target for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the summer transfer window with the Liverpool winger’s Anfield future shrouded in uncertainty.

Earlier this year it was reported that another interested party, Barcelona, had been quoted €120 million to €140m for the Colombia winger.

Under contract until 2027, Diaz would no doubt fetch a hefty price should Liverpool decide to cash in but it’s unlikely that Barca could reach the sums involved.

Arne Slot raids Feyenoord for first Liverpool signing

Arne Slot’s first backroom appointment at Liverpool has been confirmed, with Ruben Peeters joining as First Team Lead Physical Performance Coach.

Peeters, 32, moves to Anfield from Feyenoord, where he worked as Head of Performance alongside the new Reds’ head coach.

Slot’s move to Liverpool was announced last week following the conclusion of the Premier League season with a compensation deal of a reported €11 million worked out between the English club and Feyenoord for the coach and two members of his staff.

Slot, Peeters and assistant Sipke Hulshoff will form the core of Liverpool’s new coaching setup as the club seeks to move beyond the Jurgen Klopp era.

Reds set Sepp van den Berg price with future in doubt

Liverpool have set a valuation of £20 million for Sepp van den Berg, according to James Pearce of the Athletic.

However, the Dutch defender’s future won’t be sorted until new head coach Arne Slot makes his assessment of the squad.

It had been reported in Germany last week that Van den Berg could be on the move to Mainz for a fee as little as €5m (£4.3m).
