Liverpool transfer news today: Trent AGREES deal, Adeyemi OPEN to move, Neves off to PSG
The summer transfer window hasn't been one to remember for Liverpool — so far at least.
No players have entered via the revolving door at Anfield yet, and the transfer rumours doing the rounds today don't make good reading for Reds' fans.
Here's your round-up of all the latest transfer gossip for Saturday 20 July.
Trent 'agrees' Real Madrid deal
Trent Alexander-Arnold has agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer of 2025, according to a shock new report in Spain.
TodoFichajes claims that Madrid’s deal to land the Liverpool right-back is ‘complete’ and he will arrive at the Bernabeu when his contract expires next year.
The report states that Madrid attempted to open negotiations with the Reds over a transfer for Alexander-Arnold this summer but opted against a move owing to Liverpool’s asking price.
Adeyemi open to Dortmund exit
Liverpool have been put on alert after Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi expressed his openness to a move.
“I’m wearing the Dortmund shirt and I’m very happy to be wearing the Dortmund shirt," said the talented 22-year-old.
However, the Germany international didn't rule out an exit this summer. "There are no guarantees in life,” he said.
Reds lose out to PSG over Joao Neves
In further bad news, Joao Neves, a player previously named as Liverpool's 'priority target', now looks set to be headed to France, according to Fabrizio Romano.
“Paris Saint-Germain are ready to advance in talks with Benfica for Joao Neves after player’s green light,” the transfer expert wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“João wants the move, PSG believe they are ahead of Premier League clubs; talks taking place with Benfica. No club-to-club agreement yet but negotiations continue.”
Kudus comments fuel rumours of a move
West Ham United's Mohammed Kudus may have just opened the door for a potential move to Liverpool, having publicly expressed his admiration for new Liverpool assistant coach John Heitinga.
Speaking to Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur, Kudus praised Heitinga, calling him one of the best coaches he has worked under.
"Personally, I would have loved to work with him longer.”
Mac Allister Sr. says son is 'happy' at Liverpool
After reports in Argentina suggested that Real Madrid would seek to activate a little-known clause in Alexis Mac Allister’s Liverpool contract this summer, the player's father has quashed the rumours.
Speaking to AboutMSR, Mac Allister Sr. sought to reassure fans by declaring that there are no discussions in place with Real Madrid and that Alexis is happy with Liverpool.
Newcastle hopeful Gordon will stay
Newcastle United CEO Darren Eales has told Chronicle Live that he expects Liverpool target Anthony Gordon to remain at St. James’ Park for the season ahead — alongside Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak and Joelinton.
"In the end, we had to do the deals that were right for the club, that made us compliant,” he said. “So, from that perspective, we did what we had to do. But we kept what I would say are our core players."
Rhys Williams set for exit door
Liverpool centre-back Rhys Williams is expected to leave the club this summer, having been left out of Arne Slot’s pre-season plans.
That’s according to a report in the Liverpool Echo, which states that he has been absent from the first-team picture under the Dutchman.
