Liverpool transfer news today: Slot drops Trent HINT and Zubimendi transfer REVELATION
Here's your latest Liverpool transfer news for Wednesday November 27th.
Arne Slot drops MASSIVE Trent Alexander-Arnold future HINT
Liverpool have been flying since the arrival of Arne Slot in the summer, but there could be a big problem on the horizon.
The Reds are currently eight points clear at the top of the Premier League and will have the chance to extend that lead further when Manchester City visit Anfield on 1 December.
Despite Liverpool’s early season success, three of their biggest stars, Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, are all out of contract in June.
Although contract extensions are reportedly in the works, Slot may have already started preparing for life without some of his best players, especially Alexander-Arnold.
Zubimendi transfer stance REVEALED as Liverpool and Arsenal RENEW battle
Since Arne Slot arrived at the club, Liverpool have been firing on almost all cylinders.
Perhaps the only one element in which Slot’s Liverpool have been a touch lacklustre is in the transfer department (which, admittedly, isn’t really Slot’s fault).
The biggest transfer miss in the summer was an approach for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi. Defensive midfielder was deemed an issue for the team and Zubimendi was the man judged to fill it, but he rejected a move despite Liverpool matching Sociedad’s €60m release clause.
A recent report, however, explained that Liverpool were wanting to go back in for Zubimendi in the January transfer window despite Gravenberch’s emergence.
Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister transfer conundrum REVEALED
The visit of Real Madrid to Anfield on Wednesday night comes amid a whirlwind of stories for both clubs.
Importantly, Madrid also beat Liverpool to the signings of both Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, whose services Liverpool were naturally interested in.
Madrid themselves were reportedly interested in Alexis Mac Allister in the summer, but clearly an approach and a transfer did not materialise, despite reports the player was "flattered" by the links. With Liverpool being in a high-performing transition period it’s probably worth asking - would it be worth selling Mac Allister to Real Madrid?
Liverpool's Alisson exception BACKFIRES
Liverpool’s goalkeeping situation has become a real storyline this season with serious long-term implications.
The signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia - but to arrive next summer - essentially secured Caoimhin Kelleher a transfer elsewhere after the end of the season.
And on top of this, rumours are circling that Alisson himself may leave at the end of the season, despite Liverpool’s insistence that he is their number one.
