The January transfer window may have slammed shut, but with Jurgen Klopp heading out the door, the summer will be crucial for Liverpool.

With a big shakeup in the Reds' squad expected, the transfer rumour mill continues to spin as the club prepares for the next era under the new boss.

So, with that, here's our Liverpool FC transfer news roundup for Wednesday 7 February 2024 with updates on Mohamed Salah, Federico Chiesa, Leroy Sane and more.

Saudi interest in Salah remains

According to The Athletic, Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad haven't abandoned their pursuit of the Mohamed Salah.

In fact, they're willing to offer up to £200 million for his services in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to the report.

Such a staggering sum would undoubtedly catch Liverpool's attention. Not only could it significantly bolster their transfer budget, but it could also facilitate the rebuilding of other areas of the squad and allow any incoming manager to shape the team in their own image.

Liverpool 'keeping tabs' on Chiesa contract situation

In response to the Salah rumours, HITC have been reporting that Liverpool are reportedly closely monitoring Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, who they consider a potential long-term replacement.

The report suggests that the 26-year-old, a key figure in Max Allegri's squad, now finds himself in the spotlight as discussions over his contract extension have hit an impasse.

With his current deal set to expire in 18 months, concerns are mounting that the Italian may be seeking a new challenge.

Liverpool had been named among the teams keeping an eye on the Germany wide man, along with Chelsea in the Premier League, but the player appears to have already decided against one destination.

A report from Sport in Spain this week suggests that the German has knocked back Barça, with contract talks at Bayern shelved until the end of the season, leaving the door open to Liverpool.

Bakayoko will be sold in the summer

PSV will sell Liverpool target Johan Bakayoko in the summer transfer window, according to the club’s director of football Earnie Stewart.

The 20-year-old, also a winger, is subject to “concrete interest” from the Anfield club, according to a report in Voetbalkrant, and is currently valued at around €40m (£34m) with a contract until 2026.

The Reds are not the only club scouting the Eindhoven-based talent with Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Bayern Munich all thought to be watching one of Belgium's hottest young talents.

Robertson successor linked

A report in the Italian media suggests that Liverpool have made enquiries about signing Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu.

The Danish left-back, 19, has been one of the breakout stars in Italy this season, and is already being spoken about as potentially the biggest outgoing transfer in Lecce’s history.

The club reportedly would allow him to leave for around €20 million (£17m).
