Liverpool transfer news today: Marmoush DECIDES, Trent UPDATE, Hughes' CHANGES
Here's all your transfer news for Saturday 30th November 2024.
Liverpool target Omar Marmoush DECIDES on HUGE move
With Mo Salah’s most recent comments making Liverpool fans all around the world panic, it’s safe to say that the future needs to be planned for as soon as possible.
And despite missing his penalty against Real Madrid last night, Salah was of course central to Liverpool’s dominance over the Champions League holders, terrorising left-back Ferland Mendy whenever he had the ball.
But the rest of Liverpool's attacking line provided further evidence that the best way Liverpool could support Salah - this season or beyond - is with a dynamic central attacker, one not too dissimilar to the skillset of Omar Marmoush at Eintracht Frankfurt.
David Ornstein reveals Liverpool stance on Trent contract
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold contract saga seems like it’ll be never-ending at this point.
Alexander-Arnold is proving a difficult scenario for Liverpool’s higher-ups not least of all because of the right-back's history as a local lad coming through the academy. His departure would be an unfortunately significant blow to the feeling of the club itself.
But trying to figure out this deal alongside that of Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk isn’t exactly easy, despite Anfield Watch's exclusive that Van Dijk will be staying at the club.
As opposed to the player himself explaining the ongoing situation as was seen with Salah this week, a new report in The Athletic by James Pearce and David Ornstein has now clarified where Trent is at.
Liverpool's January strategy for £40m Robertson replacement
While it would be a stretch to refer to Liverpool’s left-back situation as ‘woes’, referring to it as a situation isn’t a stretch.
Andy Robertson turns 31 during the season and has consistently been a weaker point of Liverpool’s amazing back line, giving away penalties in both the games against Southampton and Real Madrid in the past week.
And whilst Kostas Tsimikas wasn’t seen as the long-term future, he had begun to impress as Arne Slot was handing him places in the starting XI. That is before he went out with an ankle injury.
GIVEMESPORT reports that the club are considering a bid in January for Fulham’s Antonee Robinson.
Richard Hughes plans SERIOUS changes to Arne Slot's squad
Liverpool’s strength in depth has been on show recently amid a bit of an injury crisis at the club.
Caoimhin Kelleher has demonstrated he is definitely a starting-level goalkeeper, Conor Bradley embarrassed Kylian Mbappe on Wednesday night, Curtis Jones has forced his way into the starting XI and Darwin Nunez is putting in more work than Pep Guardiola’s fingernails at the moment.
For all the questions posed at him recently, it seems that sporting director Richard Hughes has definitely been busy in identifying places for Liverpool’s squad to remain strong.
And a new report on The Athletic is reporting that Liverpool are looking in three key areas outside of potential necessary replacements for the expiring contracts of Mo Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.
Alisson DESIRES another club
Liverpool’s goalkeeping situation is far from regular this season.
Between signing Georgia’s Euro 2024 hero Giorgi Mamardashvili and letting him stay at Valencia before joining in summer 2025, Alisson still being arguably the best goalkeeper in the world and then Caoimhin Kelleher looking unbeatable in net after covering for the injured Brazilian, Liverpool have an embarrassment of riches.
Kelleher has been outspoken about his desire to be a number one, and once again proved his credentials by saving Kylian Mbappe’s penalty to keep the score at 1-0 against Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
All the while, rumours are circling that Alisson could be on the way out as soon as this summer. In an interview with OneFootball, the Brazilian admitted that he wants to return to his boyhood club, Internacional.
Liverpool desperate to complete surprising double transfer
It seems like Richard Hughes is planning for a big January transfer.
The Liverpool sporting director has not gotten off to the best start so far in his new role. However, he has plenty of time to redeem himself.
With key contract decisions to be made and the January transfer window coming up, if Hughes can pull off new extensions to all of the Reds' big three and bring in more reinforcements, every supporter will be fully on board once again.
A report from TEAMtalk claim that Hughes is trying to sign both Martin Zubimendi and Milos Kerkez in the January transfer window.
