Liverpool Transfer News Today: Mo Salah contract BLOW and former Man City SENSATION targeted
Here's all your latest Liverpool transfer news.
Liverpool RIVAL wants Mo Salah in major contract blow
Mohamed Salah’s future is still up in the air, as the Liverpool star is set to LEAVE Liverpool at the end of the season.
Arne Slot’s side are top of the Premier League and Champions League tables and Salah’s form under the new Reds boss is one of the big reasons for their success so far.
The number of clubs that Salah could move to seems to be dwindling, with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia one of the most likely destinations in the event of his departure.
However, one club has now apparently thrown their hat into the ring in what would be an audacious move.
£50m transfer target gets Liverpool seal of approval after PHENOMENAL performance
Liverpool could well opt to sign a new left-back in the upcoming transfer windows with uncertainty over the long-term future of Andy Robertson.
The Scotland captain will be 31 by the time the season ends and is beginning to show some signs of wear and tear. Robertson has been by and large Arne Slot’s starting left-back in the Premier League this season but has been rotated out of the Champions League lineup to accommodate Kostas Tsimikas.
The Reds have been linked with plenty of left-backs with Rayan Ait-Nouri and Antonee Robinson mentioned as potential targets.
Liverpool can replace Darwin Nunez for FREE
Liverpool have a way of replacing Darwin Nunez for free. They're reportedly considering it.
Darwin Nunez caught flak this week after a disappointing performance against Newcastle United. It was particularly a shame as Newcastle is the scene of the Uruguayan's peak in a Red shirt.
Slot opted to start Luis Diaz centrally against Manchester City, rather than Nunez.
If Liverpool are going to try and replace Nunez, it appears one of their primary targets could be absolutely free. Now that's a steal.
Liverpool move for SENSATIONAL MLS winger to replace Mo Salah
Liverpool have made a move to sign an exciting MLS prospect who could replace Mohamed Salah at the club.
Richard Hughes has been quiet on the transfer front since arriving at Anfield with just two acquisitions in the summer window.
However, the club's new sporting director looks like he may ramp up his efforts in the coming months.
Not only does Hughes need to resolve the future of Salah but Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold as well with the trio all having expiring contracts at the end of the season.
At the same time, Hughes also needs to plan for the future and identify potential replacements. Which is exactly what he seems to be doing with Salah.
Liverpool want MAGNIFICENT Joao Pedro and they want him NOW
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Joao Pedro. The Reds aren’t waiting around, either.
There’s a lot of talk around Liverpool’s strikers right now. The Reds are incredibly reliant on Mo Salah, who is either scoring or assisting all of their goals, with Darwin Nunez not quite up to scratch.
In some ways, Arne Slot has already replaced Nunez with Luis Diaz. But he’s unlikely to be the long-term option there.
And in looking for that long-term option, Slot may not want to wait. Liverpool are eyeing up a star to come in ASAP.
Next wonderkid FOUND in former Man City SENSATION
Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes is managing a number of complex situations at the club.
There’s the ongoing contract negotiations with Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, the search for midfield reinforcements and a replacement for Andy Robertson, and the need to confirm a long-term plan for replacing Alisson in goal.
Richard Hughes may be lining up one of those long-term replacements with a move for a former Man City wonderkid.
