Liverpool intend to sign a left-back in the near future and one of the club's primary targets is Milos Kerkez.

Anfield Watch exclusively revealed back in November that the Reds have already held talks with the Hungarian international's representatives over a potential move.

Kerkez is highly rated at Anfield with Richard Hughes a great admirer having brought him to the Premier League in the first place while he was working at Bournemouth.

The 21-year-old is viewed as the perfect long-term replacement for Andy Robertson, and someone who is well suited to play Arne Slot's style of football. Now it seems the Reds have moved a step closer to completing the Hungarian's transfer with Bournemouth edging closer to bringing in a replacement for him.

While Liverpool continue to succeed on the pitch, off-field transfer rumours are rife.

Speculation is looming over the club's decisions around their self-made contract disaster and positions that weren't looked at for recruitment over the summer are now in need of attention.

As such, the club's sporting director Richard Hughes has a lot on his plate to deal with this Christmas time, and the decisions he makes will have a huge effect on the rest of Liverpool's season, and the years to come.

In an effort to solve a problem that has been looming over the past few seasons, as Liverpool have relied heavily on Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, the club is reportedly looking at signing a new centre-back, their first in four years.
