The weekend game against Fulham was the starkest indication yet that Liverpool have a left-back problem.

Andy Robertson’s performances haven’t been up to his usual level for the majority of the season. He has shown flashes, with a good performance against Manchester City for example, but for the large part he has struggled to lock down the Premier League’s dynamic wingers.

It’s becoming evident that Liverpool are going to have to make a replacement in the position if they want to sustain title challenges long-term under Arne Slot.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: Blows for BOTH Liverpool and Real Madrid

Both Liverpool and Real Madrid suffered a blow this week as the Trent Alexander-Arnold race heats up. The Scouser is out of contract at the end of the season.

Where will Trent Alexander-Arnold play after this season? No one is entirely sure right now. It seems inconceivable that he leaves in January but once his contract expires?

After all, Alexander-Arnold can sign a pre-contract with a non-English club from January 1st. That's a little over two weeks away - things are getting tense.

Despite looking likely to deliver the best season of his career, Mohamed Salah might leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

This is because he is set to be out of contract, and negotiations to extend his stay at the club have yet to produce a fruitful agreement.

A number of clubs have declared their interest in signing him on a free transfer, and today another club has made their feelings clear about the Egyptian winger.

It’s an unfortunate truth of football that one team’s loss is always another team’s gain.

Premier League sides raiding teams that have been relegated is a tale as old as time. And whilst the Premier League relegation race is still a complete open book, it is worth keeping an eye on the areas Liverpool could strengthen should a team go down.

With the sacking of former Liverpool coach Gary O’Neil as Wolves manager today, the outlook for the Midlanders isn’t good.

By the time Andy Robertson had booted Harry Wilson in the shins yesterday, denying Fulham a goalscoring opportunity and earning himself a red card, it had been confirmed that Liverpool needed to sort out their left-back problem quickly.

Liverpool were already 1-0 down at this point, with Robertson failing to track Andreas Pereira’s back-post run as Trent Alexander-Arnold couldn’t keep up with Antonee Robinson’s run into space to find the cross.

He is undoubtedly a club legend. But, like all players, a long-term replacement is needed eventually.

Liverpool IMPRESSED with Ricci

Anfieldwatch revealed earlier this month that one of the names under consideration as a Martin Zubimendi alternative was the Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci.

The 23-year-old Italy international is seen as the coming midfield force in Italian football, establishing himself in the Azzurri lineup throughout 2024 and is widely expected to move on from Turin soon.

We understand that Liverpool staff are impressed by Ricci’s numbers and the club even made contact with Torino in order to enquire about him.

However the club were discouraged by a €60m (£50m) asking price. But with Ricci only under contract until 2026, his price could well reduce accordingly despite being a key player for Paolo Vanoli’s side.

Now media in Italy has followed our lead and confirmed Liverpool's interest.

£90m Kudus bid expected

The Mirror claims Liverpool are ready to test West Ham’s resolve for Mohammed Kudus in the January transfer window.

Valued at £90m, the Ghana international has experienced a difficult season thus far under Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium. The 24-year-old has scored only TWICE in the Premier League all season and has also served a three-match ban for a red card picked up against Tottenham.

But there is a potentially world class player in there and the former Ajax star is already well acquainted with John Heitinga, a member of Arne Slot’s Liverpool staff who coached Kudus in Amsterdam.

We also revealed a couple of months ago that Kudus was making DEMANDS of his entourage to sound out a move to Liverpool.
