Liverpool transfer news today: New Diaz REPLACEMENT, Frimpong's Anfield DREAM & Neves now PRIORITY
Here is all the latest Liverpool transfer news, with the Reds having found their ideal replacement for Luis Diaz and their next wonderkid signing.
EBERECHI EZE COULD REPLACE LUIS DIAZ
Liverpool have expressed a 'concrete interest' in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and could make a move for the forward if Luis Diaz were to leave the Reds.
Diaz has been consistently linked with an Anfield exit over the past few months, with Barcelona the side showing the strongest interest in the 27-year-old.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been touted as potential suitors, with Liverpool reportedly willing to sanction an exit this summer should Diaz request a move. However, the Reds are not keen on a sale.
If Diaz does depart, Liverpool would target Crystal Palace attacking midfielder-cum-winger Eze, according to Football Transfers.
They report that the Reds have expressed a 'concrete interest' in the England international, who is currently preparing for the Euro 2024 final this weekend.
However, Liverpool will only make a move for Eze if Diaz leaves the club
JEREMIE FRIMPONG 'DREAMS' OF ANFIELD SWITCH
Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong reportedly 'dreams' of a Liverpool move this summer, with a £34m release clause in his contract expiring soon.
The Dutch international, who reached the semi-final of Euro 2024, lit up German football last season, winning the domestic double during a magnificent campaign with Bayer Leverkusen.
Frimpong has previously stated that a move to Anfield 'would be great' and Bild (via Sport Witness) are now reporting that he 'dreams' of joining the Reds during this summer's transfer window.
The report states that he is similarly motivated by potential moves to Real Madrid, Manchester City and Arsenal, but it's the Reds that have 'most recently' been in contact to sign the youngster.
Frimpong has a €40m (£33.6m) release clause in his current contract that is active at present, but the clause expires the week after the Euro 2024 final. That means that the Reds would have to act soon on their reported interest.
JOAO NEVES NOW A 'PRIORITY' TARGET FOR REDS
Liverpool have identified Joao Neves as their ‘priority target’ in the transfer market this summer but must offload players before pursuing a deal for the Benfica star.
That’s according to the latest report in Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha, which claims Benfica won’t budge from their €120 million asking price for the teenage sensation.
The 19-year-old midfielder is also on the list for Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain and the Liga Portugal giants are reported to have already turned down two bids worth €60m for the ball-winner.
It’s now claimed that the Reds want to add Joao Neves to their squad for next season and are currently preparing a proposal for Benfica’s consideration.
However, CM also report that Liverpool cannot go into the market for Neves until certain outgoings are completed.
LIVERPOOL INTERESTED IN TURKEY STAR FERDI KADIOGLU
Liverpool are interested in signing Turkish Euro 2024 sensation Ferdi Kadioglu along with Manchester United and Newcastle.
That’s according to a new report in Italian outlet Calciomercato, which claims Premier League suitors are threatening a Juventus approach for the versatile Fenerbahce star.
Kadioglu, 24, excelled at left back for Vincenzo Montella’s Turkey at Euro 2024 and his marauding runs from defence were a feature of their run to the quarter-finals.
He has been earmarked as a potential arrival for Italian giants Juve, who would like to swap him for Weston McKennie. However, the report claims the two sides are far apart in their valuations with McKennie rated at €20 million and Kadioglu valued at €30m.
Juventus are under further pressure due to Premier League interest with the Reds, Man Utd and Newcastle all named as interested parties. Previously it was reported that Arsenal were keen having struggled at left-back last season.
ALISSON FUTURE COULD BE SORTED VERY SOON
Manchester City have until the end of the weekend to agree a deal with Al-Nassr for goalkeeper Ederson, or else Saudi chiefs will activate their plan to go after Liverpool's Alisson Becker instead.
That’s according to a new report in Teamtalk, which claims City are determined not to lose their Brazil international shot-stopper on the cheap.
A deal has already been struck between Al-Nassr and Ederson’s camp, according to the report, with the 30-year-old set for a £200,000 per week contract in the Saudi Pro League.
Negotiations are being commanded by Public Investment Fund (PIF) leaders, who also own Al-Ittihad, and they too are looking for a high-quality goalkeeper this summer.
Should City drag their feet over a deal throughout the weekend then Saudi officials are ready to put in motion their plan to take Alisson from Liverpool.
