Liverpool transfer news today: Kimmich interest, Guehi tops list, Koopmeiners price
Here's our Liverpool transfer news roundup for Friday, 26 January 2024. The Reds are looking to make big deals this year.
Liverpool almost certainly aren't striking any deals this late in the January transfer window - but everyone knew that. Instead, the Reds are lining up some sizeable deals for the summer.
And if recent rumours are true, they could be making some serious moves. Here's our Liverpool transfer news roundup.
Liverpool interested in Kimmich
Liverpool and Manchester City are both interested in Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich this summer, according to a report.
Kimmich is set to enter the final year of his contract in Munich this summer, while he is yet to reach an agreement over an extension.
This year could present the final chance for the reigning German champions to cash in on one of their top assets, or risk the possibility of losing him for free in 18 months' time.
According to journalist Christian Falk of Sport Bild, both Liverpool and City are 'interested' in Kimmich and monitoring his situation ahead of a potential move this summer.
Guehi high on list
Liverpool are now prioritising a deal for Marc Guehi. The Reds want a centre-back and the Crystal Palace man tops the list.
This comes from the Mirror. They claim Liverpool want a centre-back above all in 2024 and the position now 'tops their shopping list'.
The Mirror believe Liverpool have settled on a primary target, though, in Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi. There's no chance of signing him this month, of course, but the Reds will supposedly make a move later this year.
Koopmeiners price tag
Liverpool have been told what it will take to sign Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners this summer, with the Netherlands international reportedly on the Reds' radar.
However, according to Tutto Atalanta, his employers will only entertain offers of €60-65m (£51.5-55m), while the midfielder remains 'non-transferable' in January as La Dea chase European qualification in the second half of the season.
In addition to Liverpool, Juventus and Napoli are said to be tracking Koopmeiners, while previous reports have name-checked Newcastle too.
Yoro not happening this month
Liverpool have been told that Leny Yoro will not leave LOSC Lille during the January transfer window.
A previous report from France claimed Lille want a 'totally crazy amount' in the region of €90m (£78m) to sell their star asset, who they are still hopeful of convincing to sign a contract extension on his current deal (which runs until 2025).
However, that set figure has since been dismissed by Lille president Olivier Letang, who is adamant the teenager will not switch clubs this month.
"Yoro will not leave in January, so there are no negotiations," Letang told Le Parisien. "I read somewhere that I had set a price. [That is also] completely false."
Liverpool ask about Kubo
Liverpool have reportedly asked about Takefusa Kubo but have postponed their interest until the summer. Kubo didn't want to move this month.
The Reds made contact with the player before the January transfer window opened in order to gauge his interest, says Relovo. However, he wasn't interested in leaving Real Sociedad before the end of the season.
Liverpool will potentially come back in for Kubo, though - but it would have to be a summer transfer.
